Recommended Posts

I use FSAtc Chatter with Pilot2ATC gives me everything I need especially when flying in different areas of the world where there's no live traffic due to tme of day.

It pipes down completely.

Oh, I must have missed a setting somewhere then. Mine continues to chat on top of MSFS unless I manually press and hold the mapped silence button.

How have you made this work automatically?

Earlier, according to the developer it has not been possible to check through SimConnect if MSFS ATC was communicating, and therefore not possible to automate a pause of FS ATC Chatter.

Ah, well then that explains why I had so much trouble flying in Finland...I had to use Oslo (ENGM) chatter.   Disregard my suggestion.

Live atc covers Finland Norway Portugal Ireland and other European countries the rules aren’t EU rules at all. The U.K. particularly still has some weird rules from the 50s about sharing radio transmissions which are hopelessly outdated.

Your suggestion of live atc is excellent though and I use it when flying in many countries around the world for background, to me it’s by far the most realistic option available and free.

In the U.K. I sometimes just put my cheap airband radio on which is also good.

For those using FS ATC chatter don't forget to check every once in awhile for updates. I just downloaded updates for the US and Canada, over 4,000 new chatter files. They sound great!!!

Yes I have that set, but for some reason it never alerts me.

Best combo for me is FS-ATC chatter + Pilot2Atc. P2A select automatically the chatter region from you current location, and of course pause chatter during conversation with ATC.

I thought I would round this off by saying I got the FS-ATC Chatter, and like it very much. I'll now look into Pilot2ATC.

Thanks for all the advice, folks.

If you have doubts, look at the P2ATC author‘s website, he permanently releases improvements and 🐞 fixes.

Pilot2ATC is a no brainer. It provides the perfect level of immersion. The UI is old but that does not impact anything tbh.
