Every time I see one of these types of stories, I immediately think of this song.  Rockwell, "Somebody's Watching Me", released in 1984, what a fitting year in which to release this song.

For anyone who doesn't understand the  year reference, look up/read George Orwell's book titled Nineteen Eighty-four.

LOL! I had a problem with windows activation after updating my machine and eventually contacted Microsoft and ended up having a customer service person remote access my system.

Then sat there for quite a while while he wandered all over the place, opening folders and drives pretty much randomly, like he was on a treasure hunt.

At first, I wanted to ask exactly how this was helping with my activation, but eventually I just was curious as to where the heck he was wandering.

Ended up with him reinstalling windows, whereupon it again had the same activation problem.

Later, I ended up remembering my old windows 10 key from a century ago, and put that in, and it was accepted and windows finally activated.

But I still feel a bit bemused over the techs wandering.
