Who is looking forward to the New Zealand update?..

While that's very true, it would be hard to effectively showcase Milford Sound while it's permanently ice-bound.  Common sense would suggest such a fix be done before a NZ update, or maybe even made ready to bundle in with it.  Then again maybe they expect us to 'authentically' land our Caribous on the ice.

Well maybe they are.  Sometimes there is better orthography after an update.

But what is this frozen Milford Sound you are talking about?  I have been there many times in the sim and I have only ever seen blue water.
Is it happening with live weather?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Yes, with live weather - of course I can always change it manually but I prefer live for the er... authenticity.  Maybe it's not always like that, just those times I've visited in the NZ summer.

It is. And it is annoying. They use such a low res snow coverage map from meteoblue that you get ridiculous snow coverage in many places of the world using live weather. At least they acknowledged it finally, and guess what: they were surprised about it. As if they never actually test their own sim...

Yes. Milford was snow/icebound every time I flew in there with live weather.

Really looking forward to the NZ update, one of my favourite places to fly.  Queenstown is my favourite place in the sim. I do nearly every test flight of a new plane/heli around Queenstown. It's high on the bucket list of places I must visit irl before I pop my clogs. Happy to hear it's using/compatible with the Orbx mesh as I have so many addon strips that were made for compatibility with that mesh that I was afraid I'd lose.  Bring it on.

The Hobbiton photogrammetry they mention seems to have already been hooked up to the Bing Maps app.

Really looking forward to this, I wonder if the mesh update will be better than the product I bought some months ago - I’m sure it will be.

NZA make some quality airports so having them involved is fantastic, should be noted though that two of the airports listed are already available as freeware from NZA.

I'm looking forward to it. New Zealand is such a scenic place, and up until now, no flight sim could do it justice. I think it'll be the perfect place to tour in the analogue Baron.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

I am certainly looking forward to NZ... It was not so good before. Flying into Wellington was a huge let down. I wish I could spend more time in NZ then the almost three weeks I had exploring the country.  The people are just as amazing as the landscape. Additionally, a lot of highly detailed airports to fly in and out of.  BRING on NZ :) Thank you MSFS just loving this sim and its future.

Cheers to you all..!

Wellington city will get the treatment in the update. As for the airport, Flightbeam have first class virsions

of both Wellington and Auckland airports that have optional static aircraft. I disable those and use the

freeware FSLT live traffic in real time with live weather. Just keep a change of underwear for landing

in Wellington when the wind is strong.

Pretty sure it is going to break a lot of my NZ addons like the Aotearoa vegetation mode.

I am looking forward to this update. I’ve been flying on this region since Orbx released their sceneries for it.

To be fair, it’s great to fly over it since release but I won’t complain because of more realism.

As an Aussie not really. I'll fly into Auckland or Queenstown every once in awhile when I'm bored for something different. It's just a place full of sheep and weird accents.

So it's the Wales of Oceania?

Without the coal mines and choirs.

Has the long unpronounceable names though.

I enjoy flying in NZ.

However, since I own the NZ Mesh by OrbX and have a ton of freeware addons for NZ, I am unsure of what the World Update can do for me that I don't already have.

I shall find out soon enough.
