It wouldn't been forgotten if there was just one single update road for each and everything. Now... some updates through the game, some through the store first (MS Store version that is), sometimes the Xbox thingy requires an update before you can update the rest, sometimes it's in the market place, sometimes it in the content manager. Where still talking about the basic game here not 3th party content. PS: Wait until you get a bit older and fog is starting to crawl into the memory part of your brain, you'll understand by then. Launch Xbox app/Steam, update MSFS launcher if required, open game, download game update, then add the World Update to your game from Marketplace. Has been the process since WU1.

If you think about, it makes sense: A sim update, everybody needs to have it, so it gets automatically installed. But not everybody needs (or has space for) 200GB of world updates, so the actual download of the world update is optional and not forced upon. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
February 24, 20233 yr I've spent a few hours flying in NZ today between Queenstown, Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland and so far have been very impressed by this update. No gremlins so far to report. I will try a few smaller airports over the weekend. NZA has new packages for Rotorua and Westport which you can download from their page, as I did. I assume the other ones can still be used, but didn't try them yet. I'm just not sure if the Discord ones are duplicates or they have little extras in them. They have different folder names, so I guess I'll just suck it and see! i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

They said that they were going to bring this up in their quarterly talk with Meteoblue and see if they can do something about it (I guess they will have to pay Meteoblue more money for higher resolution). If my memory serves me they said that talk is going to happen in March. So IF it ever changes (and I sure hope it does) it will probably be just in time for Winter in the Southern Hemisphere. OK fair enough - thank you for that clarification. I have visited Milford Sound many times over the years and irks me to fly there in the sim with live weather enabled and have it ice and snow bound all year round! Bruce I might just add as an ice free Milford Sound appears in the official promo (an otherwise very impressive vid of many places I have visited in NZ) I had expected the issue to be addressed. I noticed that the release announcement for this references “TIN (Triangulated Irregular Network) cities”…it’s not a term I’ve heard before. Is this something new or a more technical name for photogrammetry? I would be grateful for some clarification on this point too. February 25, 20233 yr They have used the TIN reference before - A member of the forum did go into more detail on what it means. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/in-wu6-download-ingame-it-says-cities-modeled-with-triangulated-irregular-network-technology-fancy-fancy-aint-it/450901/ Edited February 25, 20233 yr by Zangoose Vote to fix transparent sun visors having no effect on the sun glare effect in MSFS at: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sun-shades-sun-visors-not-influencing-light-in-cockpit/691565/
February 25, 20233 yr For those saying that the update process has always been the same, I can confirm that early updates had to be downloaded via Microsoft Store, then it was changed to via the X Box app and it's now downloaded in game. I guess it's different for those who use Steam though. It has always been the case that the main content has to be purchased (for free) inside the marketplace.
