simconnect-dependant addons not working

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Loaded up the sim for the first time this week, and now noticed that none of my simconnect dependant addons are working. So far I've noticed that both chaseplane and V-pilot are unable to connect to the sim. From V-pilot i recieve the message, "...Please ensure flight is loaded". And chaseplane won't connect since it doesnt register the sim as running, in the bottom of the Chaseplane UI, it says "Start your simulator and load a flight to use Chaseplane". So I'm quite sure it's a Simconnect issue. I didnt use my computer for a week and now the sim is not working properly, I didn't change or alter anything, the problem just "spawned".

The flight is fully loaded.

Sim runned with admin rights, and as admin.

Both Chaseplane and V-pilot are fully updated.

Please lmk if i should post any logs and where I can find them.

Thankful for any ideas,

Wilhelm

Ok, how do I reinstall it? Do I delete it? When i press install nothing happens. The simconnect install client opens for just a second befor closing down again...

Try again with right klick and "Run as administrator"

If you are running the sim as an administrator/with admin rights, all SimConnect clients must also be ran with admin rights otherwise they wiil not connect. Right-click the exe files, select Properties and then Compatibility and check Run this program as an administrator for your add-ons (chaseplane, vPilot).

But really you shouldn't run with admin privileges unless absolutely necessary...

You say you installed "it"...you should be installing "them," as in more than one of them.  It's necessary to run all of the legacy Simconnect installers for FSX, FSX SP1, and FSX SP2/Acceleration--they install separately and coexist on your PC rather than overwriting the other versions.  A number of add-ons need more than just the last one.

When I installed them on my new machine last month, the installers barely flashed on the page before they were done--that's normal.

Thanks for the reply, and sorry for my superlate answer. Unfortunately your suggestion didn't fix it. I've reached out to lockheed martin, by mail and by forums. I've created a post on the forums, but havent gotten an answer for 3,5 weeks. Any other suggestions?

Edit: Tried loading up a new flight, and it seems like the throttle is stuck in almost every add on aircraft that I own, including the PMDG 747, QW 787, PMDG 737 etc. I have full controll over the yoke.
