Aero is now so smooooth with new motion smoothing option

Recommended Posts

I just got the latest Varjo Base update and the new motion smoothing option is very slick. Super smooth even locking at 30fps on my 3090 at the very high 37ppd resolution. I can't quite achieve 39ppd. I think this 3090 will see me through until there's a 5090 now. Dynamic foveated rendering (OXRTK) + DLSS + motion smoothing are some great technologies that have come recently to MSFS/Varjo and really improved image quality and the immersive experience.

"until there's a 5090 now"

what I would rather like to see is FrameGeneration support in VR, raising fps from 30 to 60.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

even though Nvidia could probably do that right now, their probably saving it for their 5090 gimmick.

if that is really the case, I am sure AMD would jump in with their upcoming alternative version, otherwise there will be another GPU upgrade in around 2 years hopefully then with frame doubling for VR. nothing needs plenty fps increase more than VR. going from 30 to 60 fps in VR is more important than from 60 to 120 fps in 2D.

I saw that FOV review and went hunting for an app to test my own experience as it feels better than that to me. Bought the app but it needed steam controllers which I don’t have. In fact it felt like FOV even improved a touch with the last base upgrade.

I thought initially with my 4090 that motion smoothing was working well, now i'm not so sure.   Anything but default craft and at busy airports though even a few light ones have the issue too, result in less than 30 fps and a stuttery mess as of su12.  I dont run with openxr toolkit because just having it active and no settings, it was dropping 5 fps off the total though.  My issue could be related to fsuipc, i need to test that theory next.

Its smooth as butter in the baron at eglc with orbx addons though, at 30 fps motion smoothed, except for a stutter every 30 -40 seconds, but its tolerable.
