I have always had problems installing scenery using the addon.xml method, so I would not want my options to be limited to this.

If it was just for in-house testing as they say, then there's no need to include it on a public release.

Orbx installer installs everything via add-on method.  Third party like Flightbeam did half-baked add-on as files would go into sim_root/effects folders etc when it can be done via add-on method.  LM needs to force an approach; do not give too my options as then everyone does what they want.

Who knows at what speed LM does p3dv6.x updates? before it was 6 month cycle.  Now it has been over 2 years just to get v6 out.

The ORBx installer gives you the option of addon.xml (linked to an external library) or scenery.cfg (in the Prepar3D v4 root folder). The latter is the normal scenery.cfg installation method.

Yes, I said it, and very likely a new installer will not be pushed (unless something drastic changes requiring making minor adjustments) when the newer version of P3D is released.  This will allow for it to be installed without having to try pointing it to where you would have it installed...

This was meant as a CYA to Majestic software for mentioning the release ahead of time. Its all a joke anyway as we all know a new version should be out soon. 🙂  or at least the majority of us are hoping so.

I'm a little confused here. 
 

So rumors abound of a v6. Lots of whispers, real/fake Facebook pages, assumptions, NDA reminders, more assumptions, and lots of wishful thinking due to the complete lack of evidence. 
 

Then suddenly, Majestic Software put out an update for their add-on, with installers that include…..v6. 
 

With nothing official from LM. 
 

I don’t know if I’ve blacked out in the past and I’ve missed some vital information, but if I have, we’ll, please, for gods sake, fill me in.

My bad. I thought I saw it on prepar website. I just looked and it was on flightsimwebshop . Sorry
