Hello all.

I'm not very clever when it comes to  differentiating why one particular 4090 GPU is better for a SIM than another one?  I also see a fair difference in price.

I am running P3Dv5 currently and will be getting MSFS once the good heavy's become available in that  SIM.  With that being said, might you please steer me in the direction regarding modal and specific 4090 I should be looking at?  And why?

Thank you in advance.

Don’t think it makes much of a difference when it comes to performance or stability. I have purchased a Zotac model, as it was considerably cheaper than Asus or MSI. Been very happy with it so far, but if there is little or no price difference at all, it might make sense to grab a more well-known brand.

I'm running an ASUS TUF 4090.  From everything I've read there isn't significant advantages to the more expensive OC versions that are out there.  Most common complaint is coil whine on some.  Stick with a reputable vendor and you should be good to go.  The OC versions and water cooled versions are more boutique options if you care to spend more to not get a lot more performance.

One criteria that might influence your choice is size.  I also ended up with the ASUS TUF 4090, and it's positively HUGE--so big (long), in fact, that I couldn't fit it into my full-sized HAF-X tower and had to buy a new monster-sized case.

The positioning of the power connector might be an issue with some computer cases, as well--particularly if the case is narrow or has side-mounted case fan(s) that protrude into the case.  You need a good 2-3 inches of headroom between the top of the card and the side of the case to make the heavy cable bend from the top of the GPU down towards the PSU.

Thank you Bob for your insight.  I'll need to check on my case size to confirm it will fit.

I ended up getting the Founders Edition due to its smaller size.  I was able to get it to fit in my 570X case (mid tower size class)

https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Cases/570x-rgb-config/p/CC-9011098-WW

I had plenty of room on length and depth of card.  Though width is very tight with the glass cover on the case.  This was mitigated in my setup by purchasing this 90 degree cable

https://www.moddiy.com/products/ATX-3.0-PCIe-5.0-600W-12VHPWR-16-Pin-90-Degree-Angled-Extension-Cable.html

I've used this case for a few builds and like it as it's fairly light and doesn't take up a lot of space.  So happy to report I didn't need a new case.

If space is of concern, and you have room for a radiator, the MSI Liquid cooled option is the best 'value' for the boutique options of the 4090.  It was my alternate choice had I not gotten the TUF 4090.  I'm using a Corsair 5000D case and it fits just fine in it.

Thanks Jason.
I have done the measurements and I’ll be fine with my Corsair 750D High Airflow too.

Looks like the RTX 4090 Founders Edition is available on https://store.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/store/?page=1&limit=9&locale=en-us&gpu=RTX 4090&category=GPU,DESKTOP

I was able to get one after being 220 on the queue.

Update: Out of stock. It sold in a matter of minutes. I guess I was lucky.

Like I said earlier I went with founders edition.  Not having to get a new case was a huge help!  I couldn't be happier with the 4090 in general.  I had some initial disappointment and regret.  However after making a few key setting changes everything is now very smooth.

That's the one I'm going to ask my builder - Chillblast - to obtain. It's 2" shorter than the Asus Strix which is significant when choosing a case.
