Having a few issues

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I got MCE about 2 days ago however since then I've been having a few issues with it and haven't been able to find any solutions on here or any other platform.

Issue #1: Everytime I tell the co-pilot to begin a checklist (using voice and it is a custom checklist), the co-pilot responds with "Checklist reading is cancelled". Sometimes it'll say the first item on the checklist and then say the same thing right after and cancel the checklist, I do have my co-pilot's voice as TTS.

Issue #2: Joystick hard mute button
I was trying to assign the numlock button assignment to a button on my Thrustmaster TCA Yoke however it wouldn't work, as a matter of fact it wouldn't work on any button I try using, even on the keyboard.

Appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Amadou Sohna

The issue with checklist is probably just some character that got into a line causing MCE not to see where the line ends.

The checklist file needs to be in simple ANSI text format.

Send your custom checlist and we will polish it for you.

To prevent the Numlock feature screwing the Demo and leaving testers baffled as to why MCE isn't recognizing any speech, it is disabled by default.

In "General" tab click <More options> button

In "advanced options" panel, enable option "Numlock mutes reco". Only then will it become active and you should be able to assign a joystick button to toggle it ON and OFF and you get aural feedback as well.

Download properly formatted checklist.

http://www.multicrewxp.com/Modified_Check.zip

Keep in mind, only a single underscore is allowed per line.

If you can't access the file, copy te line above and paste it to your browser address field

Human recorded voice packs will handle this custom checklist nicely.

Thank you very much. However, I tried using this, did not touch anything, and yet it still gives me the same thing, "checklist cancelled".

As a matter of fact now that I'm taking a look at it, none of the checklists are working for me, even the default ones, they all keep saying the same thing.

Definitely ran it with the sim and not just edited it.

When weird things like that happen, the best is to restore MCE to factory settings

Windows Start->MultiCrew Experience->Restore factory settings.

That'll give you a default "mce.ini" with settings that are known to work.

You'll have to go though the wizard next time you start MCE, but there is no need for speech training if you already performed that and didn't format C drive since.

Start with default checklist first.

Once that works, assign your custom checklist.

I did that however I get the same result, with both the default checklist and the modified checklist you sent me.

Which specific product and MCE version are you on? Ultimate, MSFS multiple planes, or PMDG specific product?

Go back to the e-mail where your activation file was provided and ensure you download the patch. It should be a higher version.

Unzip and manually replace/add files as per folder structure.

I did that and still get the same result. I also did a fresh re-install of MCE earlier.

I believe I've found the issue. It's got something to do with my antivirus not allowing the "mce.exe" file open when I replace the files provided in the patch folder.

I've turned off my antivirus, so now the application is opening, and it's showing the updated version in the corner (3.0.3.0). However, I notice that when I open it, I can see that the mce.exe file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Multi Crew PMDG 737 gets deleted and the it's stuck in "Trying to connect to flight simulator" even though my flight simulator is open and I'm spawned in on the tarmac. Any ideas on what's going on and how to fix it?

Solved the issue and the checklists are now working. Thank you for your help and for your patience with me.

How I fixed it:
1) Turned off anti-virus
2) Made an exclusion on the app through the anti-virus to stop it from deleting itself

I did run into an issue with it not being able to hear me however I reset the config settings and it worked after that.

Thanks again.
