Paypal payment review at Simmarket?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I tried purchasing FlyTampa StMaarten in Simmarket, during the 30% off sale described here:

However, Simmarket put my order on hold. They say "PayPal is currently reviewing your payment for order #*******. This check has been initialized by PayPal and is solely up to PayPal. The check may take 48 hours or longer. After PayPal has cleared your order, its content will become available". Since I already got the confirmation from Paypal that my payment was complete, I understood that my payment was OK. Or am I expecting too much?

Anyway, I opened a ticket with Simmarket, explained the situation and included the Transaction ID. They just replied this:

"Hello, Luis, your transaction is currently reviewing by Paypal. In this case please contact Paypal for the detail. The order will not be released until our system receives the payment"

Nothing I didn't already know. I replied to them by email, attaching the Paypal confirmations, but they just say they haven't received the payment. Both Paypal and my bank say otherwise. After Simmarket's insistence, I contacted Paypal: they confirmed me payment is completed, and the fact I have a Transaction ID proves it. I sent this to Simmarket, but now they say they can't receive attachments 🤦‍♂️

In the meantime, I bought at Flight1 the QW BAe 146 for P3D, with the same Paypal account and card. No issues at all. So?

-------

TL;DR: I paid for a product in Simmarket using Paypal. Simmarket refuses to deliver, they say they haven't received any payment. Paypal says otherwise.

So, has this happened to anyone of you? If so, how long did it take to get solved, and how did you do so?

I have used Simmarket for years and had no issues using Paypal with them, but I have not purchased anything recently. There were a number of reports on Avsim a couple of years ago of some dispute between Simmarket and Paypal over transaction fees. For a time Simmarket were refusing Paypal as a means of payment, and blaming Paypal for the problems. It continued until the reaction from customers caused a rethink. It seems that Simmarket are still not very good with communication when things go wrong. Your Paypal evidence suggests the fault lies with Simmarket, so I would certainly suggest going back to them and complaining about their inadequate response. Perhaps make clear you are posting the details on Avsim.

I have used Simmarket and paid with PayPal for years. No problems at all.

I had this once a few days ago, too, the first time after years of buying from SimMaket with no such message. It was kept on hold for a day and confirmed the next day.

Strange, but that whole world gets more and more strange.

Kind regards, Michael

24 hours for an instant download and still waiting. I filed a claim to Paypal.

Edit: I received an email from Paypal, in which they agreed to refund me. While this happens, I ordered again.

Now Simmarket is not accepting my credentials, even after resetting password successfully. They say "ERROR: No match for 'E-Mail Address' and/or 'Password'". Before someone says about the fine print when filing a claim to Paypal, yes, I did read it. And in Paypal the dispute appears as closed, so Simmarket has no longer a reason to lock me out. I hope is just a server error.

Weird.  I used to always have trouble buy FS addons cause they're overseas a lot.  I was able to buy the Fenix a couple days ago with Paypal and had no issues...knock on wood.

Update: Simmarket blacklisted me beause I opened a dispute in Paypal. I told them that the dispute in my Paypal account appears as closed, but Simmarket sees otherwise, and won't allow me to get to all my other addons I bought from them 🙄 (Maddog, FSUIPC, etc). Don't even talk about purchasing new addons. Well, after this, I'm not sure I'd want to...

I would assume that it is illegal for Simmarket to prevent access to all of your addons?

I've had hassles with them too.  All I'll say is I'll never use them again, they're on my blacklist of companies to never do business with.

Who do you mean with them? Paypal or Simmarket?

Should be. Terms of Use do not mention anything about this, but I'm sure there should be something in German law. However, I know nothing about the law there...

Any agency should I escalate my claim to? There is the EU Online Dispute Resolution center, but I'm not European, and thus, not elegible for support there.

Both and I’m sorry, I can’t elaborate, just that I no longer have a PayPal account and will never buy from SimMarket again.

I’ve been buying from SimMarket for many years and have never had a problem. Maybe it’s because I use a credit card rather than PayPal which I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole.
