I have version 2.9.60. I'm interfacing with PF3 with an IFR flight. I want to setup MCE so that I always set the comm freq and speak with ATC. I uncheck C-Pilot can handle radio if busy, but the First officer always answers ATC. If I tell the first officer I have the comms, he will respond that I have the comms. But even then, sometimes he'll continue to answer until I repeat I have the comms.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but would like to setup MCE so that I always have the comms. I would prefer not to default to telling the first officer I have the comms....

How do I do this?

I suggest you update to the very latest.

Thank you Gerald. Unfortunately, even with the latest MCE when I state MY COMMS, the First Officer acknowledges this, but still continues to handle the radios...is there possibly a setting I can change in the mce.ini to prevent this?

It's not until I'm in the air, that MCE finally lets me take over the comms without automatically answering.

By default, when in PF3 ATC mode, FO initially has the COMMS.

As soon as MCE starts, you need to tell him "I have the radio".

Also, in MCE UI, the assumption is that it is showing "Using PFE/PF3 ATC" and option "Co-pilot can take over ATC when busy" is DISABLED.

Yep...I have 'Co-pilot can handle radio if busy' disabled. I also say MY RADIO or I HAVE THE COMMS when MCE first starts. The FO acknowledges I have the radio, but continues to reply to ATC with clearances and taxi. It's not until I'm in the air, that my final 'MY COMMS' or 'MY RADIO' finally works...

OK, will be looked at then. Thanks for reporting this.

An update...

It appears MCE is working OK. I wait a bit before I say 'MY COMMS'. As long as I wait a little bit longer before saying 'MY COMMS', the first officer does not automatically take over.
