Haptic HF8 vibration chair pad in MSFS

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. After reading this post i took the plunge and ordered one. Now i am one of those unlucky who can’t make it work. Nothing happens insim but clicking on the spots from the software do work. Can someone tell me if the sim is recognized when clicking on installed games? I’ve got the feeling msfs and the driver don’t talk to each other…

And if someone can send me the link to a forum where to seek after solutions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Just slap a fart cushion on your seat. Same effect. Cash saved.

For added realism in WWI planes, you might also consider making a DIY dispenser that randomly squirts engine oil in your face.

It works for me perfectly, every time.

Be sure to start the flight (FLY) at the map page before turning on the app, or powering on the chair from the AC mains.

Boot MSFS. Make plan and click FLY. Turn on the power (pluged in and switched turned on and glowing orange on the pad). Next tell the app to connect to MSFS instead of some other sim. Next start up the functions (like Power/Throttle) by clicking on them and sliding the volume slider in the app. Next rotate the volume knob on chair itself.

Usually the overlooked step is not telling the app with your mouse that you want it to connect with MSFS.

I have an office chair (Steelcase Leap V.2) which does not have a narrow headrest on top like a gaming chair does. This is not a problem. The top of the pad has no vibration and is folded over the back of the chair where the included straps can tightened down and hold it there. The seat of the pad has many fold creases to match any chair no matter the front to back length of the seat. i.e. it's easy to arrange the front of the pad to be just short of the back of you knee so that you can feel the lowest vibrators at your knee joint.

Office chairs work as well as gaming chairs in other words. The pad will fit.

Thank you Fielder. I will give it another try this evening. I saw the button that brings you to the specific MSFS settings and the individual test buttons do work. But haven’t seen some connect button. My win11 is upscaled because of DLDRS and it messes the app window but will look closer again.

Well after hours of trying all sort of things  i still couldn’t make it work with the HF8 software, as for a few people on other forums. I can clearly see that the fsmodule does send some datas but MFSF doesn’t listen to them. After installing 3 different versions of simconnect it seems to work with the simshaker for aviator soft. Perhaps it is because i am in the beta don’t really know.

Does it work for Hemorrhoids?😉

And/or can it be used as one of those shiitsu (sp?) massage things?

The simshaker does have a massage option 😊 But these are only vibrations here and there with different strenghts. Nice to have !

I tried the HF8 and it does help with immersion, especially in VR. The one thing though I found is that after 15 min or so the HF8 became a little hard to sit on. I started to feel pressure points on the individual pads. I tried putting pillows on the pad and that helped, but now I had a gaming chair / HF8 / pillow sandwich and that made the chair really high and unstable, even at the lowest chair height. If this tech could be buried inside a gaming chair this would become a VR necessity.

It's an interesting product,  but I can't imagine sitting on a pad for 3 hours.    I'm 6'4" and close to 280 lbs,   so long term durability / comfort would be a concern for me.

I bolted two Aura Pro's under my seat and power them with a Dayton APA 150  (2x75w rms).  https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-APA150-With-2-Aura-Pro-Bass-Shakers-Bundle-300-9004?quantity=1

Transducers are fairly inexpensive, which is nice if someone happens to have an old home theater receiver unit laying around.

It's cool that the flight sim community has so many options right now.

Would anyone know why the HF 8 has stopped working after updating to new NVIDIA driver???

EDIT suddenly started working after a few minutes, all good.
