April 7, 20233 yr ...blows every other airplane addon out of the water, IMHO. + incredible attention to detail + all-around beautiful textures + handflies very nicely + very acceptable performance (30 fps+) on "balanced" with the sim running at "high" settings + nicely modeled cabin with nice lighting effects ++++++ the EFB is outstanding and intuitive to use, with flawless Navigraph integration The only minor negative is the lack of detailed documentation, maybe even a tutorial flight, like in the good days. At least I couldn't find much by way of documentation. All in all, three thumbs up from me.

And I believe the external engine model will be the first properly simulated turbine engine in MSFS. Maybe we'll even get proper surge simulation and proper hot/cold starts. I'm really looking forward to it, and hope it'll come out this year. One thing I would love to see in the Fenix is more persistence with regards to tail numbers like PMDG and LSH. Quote Within a year FBW will surpass the Fenix. I am sure about that. It already surpasses the Fenix on some points I just checked the FBW app, and I don't see an A320 CEO available. April 7, 20233 yr I moved from the Fenix to the PMDG a few months ago, haven't flown the Fenix since then.

That won't happen for me until the Tablet is available for the PMDG 737's. Even then I wouldn't stop using the Fenix bird, it's just that good. April 7, 20233 yr Haven't flown Fenix in a long time as I wait for bug fixes and improvements. It just doesn't scratch the Airbus itch like FSL does, but that's mainly due to things that are supposedly going to improved with V2 and the engine model. I also don't understand the high praise they get for their EFB. The slow animations to cover up poor optimization and the fact that it doesn't even save my settings almost a year after release? Meh, it's mid at best. But again, that will supposedly be fixed. Patiently waiting....

It already surpasses the Fenix on some points They need to get the VNAV stuff out of experimental into Stable. It's been too long that it's in that branch. It's pretty core functionality for a lot of us. The nature of experimental is bugs get introduced. They had a set a few weeks ago with waypoints that drove home the nature of the experimental and I got the Fenix. The ETAs on waypoints got messed up when descent started and I got a lot of duplicate waypoints in the MCDU. The VNAV in a non-experimental build and working RNAV need to happen for it to surpass the Fenix. I haven't seen any timelines for those features. I don't know if development on the a380 will include those.
April 7, 20233 yr Anyone who knows: 1. Total performance now in the Fenix? 2. Does Fenix play well w/ DX12? I've resisted Fenix because FBW A320NX is as good as it is, but does not play well w/ DX12 and a major stutter happens whenever the ATC window is opened or closed (unlike any other planes I use inc PMDG), so I've take to leaving it open and minimizing it which works, but points to performance issues with it, so I'm a little more open to Fenix than I have been because of those things.
