Scenery Tech LandClass

Hello everyone,I am in the market for a landclass improvement in FSX and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with The LandClass available from Scenery Tech. The screenshots look pretty good but wanted some additional input.Thanks for responding

I have it and it looks nice. I also have FSGenesis' landclass and it is nice too. :)Either one is an improvement over the default FSX landclass.

I agree, I have both and use the Scenery Tech, but you can't go wrong with either one.Ian.

It is outstanding, especially when coupled with Genesis.

I use it layered with my Ultimate Terrain landclass, and like it allot.To my surprise (as I used the FS9 version), I also have FSGenisis landlass, but really prefer the Scenery Tech product by far.

I have all three products (FSGenesis, X-class, and Scenery Tech) and the one I'm using now is FSGenesis. For me, in upstate NY, too many small towns and villages were completely missing with the Scenery Tech landclass. They're too important for VFR flying to not have them present. X-Class wasn't bad, but FSGenesis is the best in my area.Jim

Interesting.Around Ohio, much of the north/north central area seems to be only farmland, devoid of trees. I know that isn't true, and the UT and Scenery Tech seems much more realistic with a combination of farmland, along with 'forest'/tree areas scattered within.

They all help-and hurt in certain places. I have fsgenesis, cloud 9 , and scenery tech. I am partial to scenery tech-but one of my favorite flying places an entire huge lake disappeared (not sure who is responsible)! Hi Geofa,to avoid confusion: land class files are not vector based (they are raster files determining land use types on a ~1 sq km grid) nor do they define the presence or shape of water bodies.Cheers, Holger

When I say vector-I guess I mean a database (raster) or numbers based vs. sat. images.May not define water bodies-but after installing a certain landclass lost Lake Almanor (about the size of Lake Tahoe).
