Aircraft and Software worth waiting for....

Recommended Posts

Folks,There is a bit of a lull with FSX Aircraft and software at the moment (hgih quality, well developed software) but in the very near future there seems to be several bright prospects on the horizon. I am not sure what you are all waiting for in particular but the lull has had me looking further afield and here's what I am keen to grab before the end of the year:These are all currently due for release before the end of this year!Flight Environment X - looks to be a superb sky, water texture package and weather environment system. Go to http://www.flightenvironment.com/Ground Environment X - Not much info on this one yet but I used their FS2004 GE Pro II and found that to be excellent. They appear to be planning the release of this product in 4 components, USA and Canada in one and three packages to follow making up the rest of the world. I think they are part of the Flight Environment development process and team. It will be a tremendous product. Flight Environment are making a major announcement on Oct 01st so more info may be out then.AirSimmer Airbus Aircraft - I have only just found this one. The Developers seem to have very high credentials and their Screen shots of the Airbus in development have outstanding visual quality. They also just announced a 'Live' product support option that affectively includes future product upgrades to their aircraft included as part of the original aircraft purchase such as Virtual Flight Crew, Failure Generator, Advanced Aircars etc. Go to http://airsimmer.com/support/index.php?showtopic=10Airliner XP - Another Airbus development but again these folk want to create a highly realistic aircraft and that is certainly what I want too. I used to work on Aircraft in the Royal Aussie Air Force and frankly, most current aircraft simulations are somewhat simplistic (in terms of system interactivity and outcomes) so a plane that requires real attention and skill to fly and return home will be fantastic. This development looks like introducing new technology into the simulation that may give very highly detailed cockpits, with less FPS hit than one might expect. Go to http://www.airliner-xp.com/Voz Pro - The Voz software for FS2004 has been freeware and offers a wonderful improvement over default terrain, Airport realism and AI for all of Australia. The beta pictures of Voz Pro so far are amazing and make the waiting altogether too hard. Go to http://orbxsystems.com/This is a short list, not exhaustive, and many of you know of these already, but for those who don't, it may be very good news indeed in this 'dry' spell.Paul

Things that are in the immediate future... Not some arbitrary vapourware where its going to be in development for years and years.1. I am looking forward to the PMDG 747 for FSX. (Its got almost all the systems that need to be there)2. And the Aerosoft's West Germany (Photo scenery with autogens).3. Aerosofts F-16.4. Voz Oz for FSX (FREEWARE?)Nothing much else out there. FS9 quality airport scenery is sorely lacking. The ones that are out there is nowhere close to the FS9 quality from Fly tampa and flight scenery.Good FSX addons thats already out there.1. Megascenery Hawaii and Socal along with Gottfrieds FREEWARE LA downtown. So cal needs detailed airports.2. France VFR Scenery Northern Alps (Photo scenery with autogens) for FS9 that not only works in FSX, but its also FSX worthy in terms of quality. 3. LLH Courchvel 18degree slopping runway (that goes well with France VFR scenery). 2 and 3 is my flagship add on on my FSX.4. U.Terrain and Ultimate Traffic (both an FPS hog though)5. Lvl-D 767, F1 ATR.6. GA aircrafts. Lots of good FS9 aircrafts have already been migrated to FSX and they work well. Coronado, Realair, Eaglsofts' Cirrus. Manny

>2. And the Aerosoft's West Germany (Photo scenery with>autogens). This was RELEASED today:http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=13281I'm waiting for these:1. Acceleraion eXpansion2. Aerosoft F-163. RealAir FSX SpitfireThe expansion pack will be the the best, as I will get three top quality aircraft for around the price that a single add on costs. Plus it will be the only add on with an accurate afterburner. I think they really rounded out and completed the FSX package with thier aircraft selection, as everything they chose was exactly what I wanted and what was needed.

Yeah, seriously looking forward to the RealAir Spit and Aerosoft Viper. Most of all though I can't wait for Iris Simulations' T-6 Texan II. Awesome plane and some of the best flight dynamics I've seen yet, on par with RealAir's stuff.http://www.irissimulations.com/

One omission from the list of already released scenery goodies for FSX is the UK photo-realistic scenery by Horizon Simulations. A similar set is available from Just Flight (using the same source data). These packages are just astonishing, with resolution far higher than could be achieved in FS9. They look totally realistic from just 1500 feet, with no loss in frame rates. http://www.horizonsimulation.com/shopus/in...products_id=212http://www.justflight.com/And yes, I'm waiting for the RAS Spitfire for FSX too!Cheers,Noel.

I've got my sights set a little further down the road... The RealAir Duke!!! The SF260 with its click and drag instumentation and radios is the most Track IR friendly cockpit I have- can't wait for the technology to be applied to the Duke. The F1 ATR already came out with a free upgrade to FSX, though I assume it would take a special version for sharing a cockpit- that would be awesome!!!Best Regards, Donald T. :-waveFLYing? It's cool. Trillions of birds and insects can't be wrong.
