I'm not sure if this is possible or if it has been covered, but I could not find a post for it...

I'm taking off from an untowered airport VFR. MCE and PF3 work fine at this point. Somewhere along the way, PF3 tells me to request an IFR flight at some altitude.

Is there a way to request, via MCE, to change my VFR flight to an IFR flight while flying?

I know I can press CONTROL + SHIFT + 9 (I think) and toggle from VFR to IFR, but if I can, I'd rather use MCE and via voice, request this change...

By chance, is this possible?

If more users want this implemented, please chime in.

That kind of communication isn't very standardized, therefore, even if we add a few speech commands to that effect, it's very likely people won't use them and will scratch their heads as to what they need to say. Just like a full briefing isn't suitable for that.

For now, since this doesn't involve checking anything, you could be better off creating some custom trigger sentence in Voxkey and tie it to that hotkey.

Do not use PTT when speaking it. At least you would have the exact sentence that flows to your mind naturally.

That sounds reasonable. I may give this a try...
