April 19, 20233 yr West Australia – South (Part 1) This is the first part of another multipart flight. It will likely take three sessions to complete the entire route. Starting from Augusta (YAUG) on the south-west coast of Western Australia the route proceeds northward with the first landing at Margaret River (YMGT). We continue near the coast to Busselton (YBLN) then Bunbury (YBUN) before heading inland to the coal town of Collie (YCOI). Proceeding to the east and north across the Wheatbelt region with landings at five small airfields before arriving at our destination the gold (and nickel) mining center Kalgoorlie (YPKG). Flightplan: HERE Aircraft: The route is 459nm and with ten landings, so a cruise speed of 250knts would be appropriate. I will be flying the Flying Iron P-38 but the King Air would also be a good choice. As always you are free to fly what you like.
