Orbx Blackwing, Anyone?

Recommended Posts

Looks fun and cool.

Unfortunately I cannot support devs doing using G3X only.  Those avionics are almost worthless in the sim.

Give it a hot minute and someone like JayDee will have a PMS750 or etc mod into the plane in no time. That's if you're still interesting in the plane. I have far too many to enjoy as it is haha.

I really do hope G3X  gets an update at some point. It would make any planes that use it a hell of a lot better.

Seeing this aircraft reminds me how great it would be if someone did a Lancair Legacy (especially the higher performance version that RealAir did!)

Now there’s an aircraft I’d buy regardless of what avionics were in it.

Yet another Rotax and glass cockpit...

Seriously, the market is completely saturated with these add-ons. I wonder if they're actually making money.

I would also make an exception though would prefer analog.

At one point I thought Got friends was doing it but I haven't heard anything for a while.

Yep the RealAir Lancair Legacy was one of my favorite aircraft addons ever. So much fun.

I bought this and I find the Blackwing BW 635RG imposible to fly.  I can't set the trim easily and find it imposible to maintain level flight, sometimes there seems to be a lack of power? As for the autopilot, sometimes it works for a minute then it decides to change all settings and it all goes haywire.  Other times it doesn't work at all.  I have been able to set and maintain an altitude for a few minutes but never a flight plan or heading?  After wasteing hours of my time I give up.  Lesson learned, don't purchase new aircraft until they have been out for a time and any know glitches are well known :-)

From the moment I first installed it I have had no problems other than a few teething issues.

If you're trying to use the legacy rather than the modern flight model it won't work.

Using the manual that is available at the Orbx Direct site and in the aircraft folder is mandatory to learn the unique features of this plane.

It's very powerful for its weight and very slippery so you can't fly it like a Cessna or Piper.

All tests so far on the flight model have shown that it's within 2-5% of published figures across the board.  If you are having trouble with the trim then it's probably realistic, it's a pilot's hands-on plane first and foremost.

I'm having an issue wth the Garmin radio. The font seems to be to large to fit in the screen area and cuts off on the bottom. Not sure what is causing this and can't seem to find a solution. Is anyone else seeing this?
