ATR is out

Recommended Posts

So many people here complain about the lack of a manual, or that the plane wasn't "expert level". You probably misunderstand what "expert level" means: it's for experts, i.e., people who don't need a manual to operate it 😉

It doesn't even have "turns" displayed on ND as far I as I saw on the streams on yt. All legs are segments tied together. It's a feature on WT aircrafts which are free...

Big nope.

That is how legs display on the real aircraft.

The HSI behaviour tells different things.

Is nose steering linked to rudder?  Still can't get nose steering to work on this thing.

I use the nosewheelsteering axis as with any other airplane.

working perfectly fine if you setup a "nose wheel steering axis" and use it. But the rudder will be a fallback for sure as most won't have a separate axis.

can you elaborate on that one? What exactly is not like on the real thing? I can't find a difference to the real video posted and what I see in sim. But I may be blind on a detail!?

The HSI behaviour reflects exactly the magenta line on the ND. In the real aircraft when it reaches a waypoint and the next one is on a different course, the CDI remain centered and it smoothly start a transition between the old course and the new one. The important thing is that the CDI remain centered and that's a sign that the real aircraft indeed draws a curve between waypoints even if it doesn't seem so.

The Asobo ATR doesn't draw curves because once you reach a waypoint, the HSI instantly goes to the new course and the CDI is not centered anymore. Behaviour not correct.

Ah interesting. Now I noticed what you meant. Thanks for the explanation.

Doesn't work for me. I can see the tiller moving left/right but the actual nose gear doesn't move.

In testing I unassigned "nose wheel steering axis" then all of a sudden I could turn nose wheel with rudder. Thought I was good. Didnt change anything. Start new flight ready to taxi then again nose wheel will not turn lmao.

the ns switch I leave in down default position

My only concern with low quality payware is that it might stop the creation of high quality payware.

Milviz might've made a fantastic ATR if this one hadn't been made first.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

I don’t think this is going to even come near Flight 1 ATR for FSX.  That was the best ATR in my opinion. I was disappointed that it didn’t work in Windows 10.

It cost substantially  more, but completely worth it! I have hundreds of hours flight time in that AC.

It sets a pretty high bar in quality and realism.

Unfortunately the systems.cfg file is not accessible so can’t fix the cockpit lighting. I hope fixes are forthcoming.

But for the price it’s a good start.

I wish Majestic would create the Q400 for MSFS, one of the best sim aircraft ever.
