May 3, 20233 yr I was on an IFR flightplan from KMVY to KACK in the default C172 using the default Garmin GNS 530, latest xplane12.5.0.r1. To cut a long route short, I deleted several waypoints on the Garmin FPL page along the way while I was enroute between waypoints DEEPO and CLAMY, south of Martha's Vineyard heading east towards Nantucket Island. To my surprise, the GPS did not recalculate the resulting new heading for the remaining waypoints, but kept the previous DTK of 179 which would have led to the south pole, but not to Nantucket which was only some 30 miles east, track of 77 degrees. and accordingly, the autopilot (GPS-NAV mode) flew the wrong direction. I had to turn it off and continued manually tracking 077 degrees to waypoint CLAMY. What am I doing wrong here or is this just another bug in the default GPS? I want a GPS that works. like it does perfectly in the other simulator, ehm ... I mean the non-FAA approved "game". 😄 AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler. 60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking. very nice.
May 3, 20233 yr I used to fly around that area a lot "back when". Used a GNS430. I tried to replicate your issue but could not. Using one of the available STAR's for KACK and making up a flight plan from KMVY where I deleted a couple of waypoints (not the current on route one of course) the 530 went to the "next" waypoint. Full disclosure, never did use a STAR in that area even if IFR. C182 was a bit slow for that stuff 😁 Rather got vectors for the approach.
May 3, 20233 yr I'd try turning the AP on and off and/or re-select CLAMY as the next waypoint. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

May 3, 20233 yr No, I was speaking of my RL experience in that area, that's all. I did try but could not replicate your issue on my end. I think I understood what you were describing but I may have got it wrong.

KBID as well in RL but on KingBendix KLN 89B or some such. it's not about going there direct/vector or whatever but to follow a flight plan that you edit while enroute. if you say you can not replicate the issue does that mean you can edit a flight plan and the heading to next and following waypoints got updated correctly on the fly, in x-plane 12 that is? 😊 AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler. 60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking. very nice.
May 3, 20233 yr Here is an excerpt from the original manual of the GNS530 Zitieren GNS 530(A) Pilot’s Guide and Reference190-00181-00 Rev. H 5-15SECTION 5FLIGHT PLANSThe ‘Activate Leg?’ option is discussed previously inthis section, which allows the pilot to specify which leg ofthe flight plan is used for navigation guidance. A shortcutalso exists for this operation, using the Direct-to Key A change in the flight plan first creates a new flight plan which then has to be activated. The quickest way is to use the shortcut described. My Youtube Channel Hardware Intel i5 12600k OC5,2 GHz, Gigabyte Z690 UD, Gigabyte RTX 4070TI Gaming OC, Corsair Vegeance RGB 32GB Kit CL16

And as best as I can remember using the 530 in the sim is the same as using the 430 in RL. I can edit a flight plan. Insert and/or clear a waypoint. Change an arrival or approach.

May 3, 20233 yr The menu button does work in XP. I promise. Just used it while trying to figure out your issue. And I think I said exactly what @Dirk.M advised. Only he was much clearer...LOL! I'm a lousy explainer! Edited May 3, 20233 yr by oldflyguy70

The models 430/530/1000 that LR uses are quite old. Perhaps we will get a better (newer) G1000 from a new dev.
