London City Airport (EGLC) - UK2000 vs ORBX

I own all of UK airport scenery for FS2020. Also I own orbx London city airport because UK did not have a version of LC. I'm going to stick with what I have because I can't justify buying the same airport because one is newer and no change in performance or appearance. Especially since Orbx is releasing a V2 very soon. I wish UK will do an UK airport that is not available like EGKK or some of the Ireland or Scottish airports.

I'm hoping for EGSH. Although the freeware one isn't terrible.

But if I'm not mistaken, Ray, a Concorde landed at Exeter? (Why I know not). And took off. The runway length is I believe 6800ft and it was even shorter back then? And by the looks of it it managed to exit the runway on Bravo well before the end?

I remember these well. They had several of these excursion flights over a number of years. Back in the early 'nineties we lived in a cottage in West Hill which was about four or five miles east of the runway threshold. I remember going for a walk in the woods, hearing an astonishing noise, come into a clearing and Concorde flew low overhead.

If I remember correctly, they couldn't land it at Exeter with passengers on board due to the runway length and despite prevailing winds had to take off runway 08 to avoid breaking Exeter city noise limits.  Then it was a blast around the Bay of Biscay before landing back at Bristol and a coach home for the pax.

737 700 into London City with autoland for the hell of it. This is just about on the limit of what my ancient pc can deliver. Runway excursion at the end can be blamed on my spatial confusion!

Duxford's runway is only 5000 feet long. Was it longer back in the day?

yes- it was reduced in length shortly after Concorde arrived to build the M11 motorway. I flew into Duxford a few years ago in a PA28, still a huge runway for what it serves, I would have been happy to land on the taxiway!

from DDArthur. "737 700 into London City with autoland for the hell of it. This is just about on the limit of what my ancient pc can deliver."

Unfortunately, you seem to have been exempted from the rule that the rest of us have to follow, nm. To put your specs with your signature.

So can't relate to your ancient PC comment.😃
