Hey, is there any chance that we can get a CDU function to add the FO to the cockpit? It’s available in the Salty 747 and I really miss it when flying long haul with the WT 747. I know a lot of people don’t care, but for me it’s probably enough to keep me flying the Salty as my 747 of choice, otherwise I’d be in the Asobo/WT for sure.

Normally I’d just hack the files, but the LOD0/1 ones for the 747 and 787 are tricky (747 seems to bring both pilots back, and 787 has a weird structure).

Unfortunately, we don't have any artists on staff. We're all programmers, no model jockeys here.

Definitely no artistry required here, Matt! :)

It's a feature that a lot of addons have - pretty much all of the Just Flight planes, the 414, the Salty 747 etc

It's just a matter of making the FO from the VC LOD1 file visible when you're sitting in the LOD 0 cockpit. I find it works great in VR, because you've got someone next to you in your peripheral vision rather than an empty space.

For your WT 747:

1. FIND THE LOD1 gltf FILE in the model folder.

2. Find PILOT_1 in this: ,{"translation":[-0.488318443,3.61965585,24.5619831],"name":"PILOT_1"}

3. go to VC.gltf file

4. Find second instance of "nodes", NOT the first one
Look for  "Grid001"}],scene":0, "scenes":[{  <---- this is before "nodes"

5. Paste the code from 2. above here:

* = cursor

cursor goes at Grid001"} *   ]

Default 747: "mesh":1701,"name":"btn_side_clock_l"}*],"scene":0,"scenes":[{"nodes

6. From nodes, you need to scroll to the right. On the 747, 1723 is last node number. Add 1724 after this.

Normally that would make the FO appear, which it does in your 747. For a reason that I don't yet understand, the left seat guy also appears, which usually only happens when you add PILOT_0 via the method above (PILOT_1 is the FO).

For the 787, I couldn't find the files that I'd expect to find for an addon like the PMDG 737 or the Fenix.

Hopefully that sort of makes sense!

Anyway, thanks for everything that you do, brilliant work! :)

Totally get it, but we can't just mod compiled GLTFs for official releases; the changes also need to exist upstream in the source model files themselves, which would be outside of our area of expertise and responsibility.

Just watched Chewwy complete a flight on the 787 in the AAU2 beta on his stream now, with the update today. The flight with the 787 was today was much smoother and much better than his first flight with the 787 before the update. He had some issues with the auto-brake turning off on his landing in Phuket though, maybe this is something the Working Title folks want to check in his video.

I would rather them wait for "real pilot" streamer like 737NG Driver (that guy is awesome!!) not an "entertainer" streamer 😃

So, what the heck is this "white dot" all about? Stupidest thing I've seen in a long while. You pan around the dash and all that stuff pops up, makes you concentrate on that darned white dot. They should write a song about that darned white dot. They could call it the "white dot" song. Heck we could even have a "white dot" dessert after every meal. Anybody noticed the "White Dot". Maybe it 's the July surprise, only early. Nahh, that white dot doesn't bother me at all.

Now that it is mentioned here: I have it sometimes too.... did not notice it until recently, THought it was just a error on my system. When I do have it, movement is also very jittery (in VR).

His videos are great, he does mistake some 78 features for things that happen on the 73 though. His first 78 video cracked  me up when he was getting all upset about the speed brake arming before take off.

the 78 is fantastic after the recent update. Still a few niggles though but I’m really impressed with WT and their commitment to a product they made clear isn’t supposed to be PMDG levels.

Amazing work again Matt, some great fixes that make a huge difference in the latest beta. Things like the big map switching working properly now are perfect. Some great improvements to vnav and the FMC operation also.

You  guys have transformed the 78 it’s (already) far beyond my expectations. Really well done.

That was correct, though? The speed brake is neither armed on the 787 or 737 for takeoff. What 787 feature did he mistake?
