FYI- "FEX release within hours"

Recommended Posts

I am really hope Avsim provides an objective review comparing FEX and Activesky/XGraphics. I think this will be very useful for all. I have to be honest that looking at the promos for these products I have difficulty figuring out the difference (with exception of the weather engine currently provided by Activesky X)Mark.

Well, that's a real drag. Purchased and installed but can't get past the silly registration screen. So I'm dead in the water. I visited the Flight 1 forum and apparently it's a big problem.I should learn to wait till the bugs get ironed out of these things before buying.Jim

Not a big problem really.....they could have delayed another 24hrs but figured to release it with a small helpful post on simforums, and then release a new build tomorrow.

Whatever was causing the problem has been fixed now. As soon as my textures finish loading I'll be off on my maiden flight.Jim

Apologies about this, there is currently an issue on the Flight1 server which is incorrectly registering keys as being 'used' when a coupon code is used.Flight1 are working hard to fix the issue.Warm regards,Chris Norris

Is there a performance hit with this product? Even a minor one? If so I need to wait until SP2(hopefully with no blurries) before I get it.

This just made FSX frickin beautiful!!!!! And from what i can see there is NO FPS loss for me and possibly a increase in most situations. I am VERY impressed with the textures, i almost cried when i did a quick jog around St. Maarten. It is THAT much of a difference. Im not a FEX a really excited user, this addon has gone unnoticed by me until the last day or so, but i cant say enough for this product. If you want some serious visuals from your FSX, then by all means get this product.

Question before purchasing FEX.Does the current FEX release include a real-time weather engine that scans METAR data and sends it through SimConnect to FSX? (like ASX)If not I will stick with ASX and XGE for now, until the free update includes a real-time weather engine.

I have already installed FEX, but I get the same "unknown error occured" message upon registration process. If I close the registration window, FEX does not start!regards, harryFSXSP1 on VistaX64
