As long as I can still use my addons I don‘t see a problem. Those missions look really nice.

Strange that they leave so many questions open...

Considering the amount of money I already have spend on MSFS 2020 - wpould I start all over again with MSFS 2024 ?

They told already from the start that msfs 2020 would be supported for many years ahead (10 years if I remember right) - but what kind of support did they mean ?

How will the various 3rd party developers react ? - releasing "new" version updated from msfs 2020 to 2024 - and at what price ?

I really find they should be much clearer on these questions and a ton more of questions than these videos and short announcement.

Where do I go from here ? - should I really keep investing in msfs 2020 addons only to risc seeing them without much value in 2024 ?

Personally I would be very cautious to buy f.ex the PMDG 777 with the price tag they normally put on their stuff - or what about the upcomming Fenix A320 update etc.

Agreed, 100%.

Also, is the trailer just showing stand-alone missions where this really isn't even in the "core sim" (i.e. are we getting tornadoes in live weather? Are all mountain ranges have this amount of detail like we saw in the trailer heli rescue mission? I just don't believe that can be possible, by 2024, considering Asobo seem to have issue keeping up with current sim limitations/bugs.

Hope I'm wrong.

At the current time, yes, it's hard to believe.  I still lean towards the more likely than not given that they were already working on the WX engine and other things long ago.  I'd be more concerned with the SDK side of things, especially since that's the part that has taken the longest.  We need more stuff for the 3PDs to access for our addons.

There's a lot we still need answers to, before making any concrete judgement.

I think even if things are still left undone, it won't be the end of the world as long as they are still coming.  I still give the MSFS team the benefit of the doubt even still, because of their commitment and updates we've already seen.

At the end of the day, it's still and wait and see.

Can someone make a small resume of the 170 responses already in only 2 hours?

I'm guessing we'll get more info with FSExpo, hopefully.

The A-10 clearly being armed with a 30mm flashlight will never not be funny.

they want the game to keep it's E rating I guess.

10years was the announcement. Lies as it seems. I am not spending a single dollar on addons which are potential to become a money sink soon. If you ever wondered why they are so slow in fixing core sim functionality there you have it. Topgun word not allowed and now gamey stuff for the kids. Atc? Shared Cockpit? Historical weather? But hey I can fly a balloon for only 70€ again.

Not a lie, this is the next part of that 10 year journey.

FSX had this stuff too. Flight Sim is for everyone, not just for you.

"This is the worse thing ever, and Asobo strangles puppies!"

"This is the greatest thing ever, and Asobo is giving out free puppies!"

Think that about covers it.

And a LOT of speculation.

So a normal day here 😄

Yeah they haven't even given us any real info, so maybe let's just wait for the full pre-release, FSExpo, and next Q&A.
