Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 - Announce Trailer

Featured Replies

As I recall, most of us willingly upgraded from FS3 to FS95 to FS2000 to FS2004, FSX, FSX acceleration, and then the P3D series.. This simply seems like the next step "forward"..

Just hope that my current hardware can run it, and that most of my favorite addons survive the transition.. 🙂

Yeah they haven't even given us any real info, so maybe let's just wait for the full pre-release, FSExpo, and next Q&A.

Agreed. Speculation FOR FUN is great, but I worry about people getting too emotionally tied into what they THINK this all means vs just taking it in stride until details are introduced.

Wow!  I knew I something should be about to happen when a couple weeks ago I found I should really buy the upgrade for Premium Deluxe !

What  a GREAT and totally unexpected SURPRISE !!!!

WOW!

Jorg has lost his ever loving mind if he thinks everyone will sit back and wait until FSExpo for some sort of response. Marketplace revenue will dry up by Tuesday at this rate.

Wait, so i will never get decent weather, seasons and all the other stuff that MSFS was missing in comparison to what we had with FSX (!), and instead, they are seeling me a new sim, with new bugs, requiring new addons and new hardware? really?

Exactly.

You'll be the first "in line" to buy the new sim admit it!

I would buy an upgrade from 2020 to 2024 IF my addons will continue to work and 2024 brings anything significant to the sim and not only gamey stuff

when it comes out MSFS will be 4 years old. Back in the 2000s there were 2 year breaks between versions

Steering away from flight simulator fidelity and going towards cheesy video game stuff. They may also be looking to have everyone have purchase flight simulator all over again. We'll see. Not good IMO.

That is exactly why I am not giving up hope for P3D v6.

I think if anything 4tb SSDs are going to be the norm, just with ASOBO updates....lol.

If this "brand new version" will be in the end nothing but SimUpdate X (probably about 18 or 20 by that time this is released) with a plethora of new features that they have had in development for a longer time, then I will be fine with this.

If it is a completely independent version with its own software add-on ecosystem, then I will be furious. Because that is not the 10 years that we were promised.

Lots of luck with that.

I think like in the past, they have been working hard all this time making the 4K cinematic video with their wishes and goals, now to work to achieve a result the most near possible. Awesome video.

Hope VR is well done and improved too.

This is why i wonder if this is a marketing #### up. They've just put a torpedo through the Market Place until this is cleared up.

I expect most (all?) addons will be compatible. Everything else would be suicide.

I am well willing to pay a certain amount of €s for the "new" sim. I am saying this although I am not interested in a number of features shown in the trailer. I understand stuff like this will keep some sorts of users engaged which is good. We need a broad user base.

However, I am not prepared to see age-old issues being transferred to the "new" sim. And I will certainly keep nagging them about these. Over and over.

Kind regards, Michael
