New ATC coming for 2020 and 2024

Unless you are also a beta tester of VoxATC like Kevin, how do you know that it has an updated user interface? Or did you mean 'if they update'...?

Surely Pilot2ATC and Pro ATC were released years after FS2004, (which was actually released in 2003!), and they both date from the FSX / P3D era.

Because he posted a screenshot earlier in this thread of the beta of VoxAtc…

AFAIK AIG only updates in its own fp format now, so maintaining and updating the fp database would be quite difficult without incorporating the AIG data

I think you are correct .......... I must stop comparing P3D with MSFS.

With the former, one can create *.bgl's with AIFP from many other planners & not just AIG (as one still can) ....... so many more recent plans than what AIG provides. Once, you create a *.bgl, updates with the mostly same models are a breeze.

for now, cheers

Nope the thread title is new ATC for 2020 and 2024.  The first post may have been regarding B-ATC but vix and fshud also meet the criteria in the thread title...

The new product might not have been mentioned by name in the title, but this was clearly intended to be about B-ATC until you got here.  To be frank, I understand your enthusiasm, but you have done the exact opposite of making me interested in trying VoxATC…

Is a working beta, although I suspect not too far off a RC, but that's the Devs call not mine.

That is great news! Voxatc was my favourite ATC software in Prepar3d since it created its own AI traffic from BGL and did that really good! Instant buy for me.

& to speculate / mention, as with previous versions, a full version will be available for a 30 day test ...... but organise your W10/11 TTS inventory before installing.

for now, cheers

I think ATC improvement should come in sync with AI traffic improvements . Two biggest problems I see right now are IFR vectoring  (recognition of feeder routes, dep/app procedures , minimum vectoring altitude and etc), And slow moving AI on active  runway hence a lot if “expedite “

Also ground traffic AI should communicate ground frequency as well as coordinate with taxing aircraft traffic.

Finally , I would love to hear “possible pilot deviation please advice when ready to copy telephone number “ lol

If you fly mainly VFR in MSFS then ATC works pretty well.  If you are a tubeliner flyer then it doesn't.  Go figure.

I guess that MSFS is primarily for VFR flying then.

Since MSFD ATC based on US if one flies VFR there is no need to talk to ATC other than certain classes if airspaces like bravo or prior to land in towers airports . If VFR pilot can avoid them don’t need to talk to ATC at all lol One thing gets me  in MSFS is “request to transition though Charlie airspace “ - IRL no explicit clearance is required just establish to two way communication

I love a good ATC addon and own all of them, so intrigued by both BeyondATC and VoxATC.

Looking at videos of VoxATC though - is it really this linear and rigid? That's the impression I'm getting.
Like, seems you have to tune and listen to ATIS, then you have to do a radio check, then you have to get your clearance, etc etc.
Looks like you're following a predetermined set of steps, and get told what to say along the way. At least that's what I gather from the limited number of videos of it (that aren't 13 years old at least).

Is there more flexibility?
Does it handle IFR releases?
If I load in the sim and tune to clearance can I just skip the ATIS?
Does it handle changes in cruise altitude?
Can you pick up a different IFR clearance mid-flight?
Can you switch to VFR or choose a different approach mid-flight?

Sorry, wasn't my intention, I'm a little autistic so I interpret things very literally.  My interpretation was the thread was supposed to be a discussion of new ATC software apps 😁

If the mods want to separate my posts into a new thread that's absolutely fine.

Edit: I'm also interested in other atc software too, innovation and competition means better products for all of us and the greater likelihood that one of them will satisfy the needs of a greater number of users.👍

It depends what you want and need.  It can be quite structured, which is good for people who are learning, but it also has an expert mode 😉

Now we have to ask, which addon are you talking about?

BeyondAtc

Bit of an intellectually disingenuous way of interpreting things. A thread clearly revolves around what the OP posted and has intended for the thread, not some open take on what the title is that means you can hijack it for something else.

es?

When I flew in real life, first thing you needed to do was to listen to ATIS so you could tell the controller that you had the latest information.
