A2A Comanche & AccuSim reveal/deep-dive video!

Agree on Comanche, but they did that because they own one IRL. Makes validating the code a lot cheaper 😉

Their P3D prices remain at $50 ea.

I'm hoping they do something similar to PMDG or Fenix and really shake up the pricing model.

The "average" MSFS simmer is going to balk at a $50 price tag for a steam gauge piston single. I think A2A would profit more from a $35 - $40 price tag. This would put them in the same price range as other top devs like MilViz/BB C310, SWS Kodiak, FSW Chancellor, et al.

If it was me, I'd price it at $40 and "temporarily" discount it to $35...

Sounds like a plan! Let's see if Scott agrees 😉

I'll tell you this: the A2A Sims addons are almost the only reason I keep P3D installed any longer. Yes, they're THAT good.

Flew a lot with the A2A C172 Trainer on P3D. But it was few years ago and the world has moving forward since then. I was attracted by the avionic system and enjoyed it. But I didn't find anything astonishing regarding the flight model but I'm very not a specialist in this area.

I am puzzled by your reluctance at flying the Comanche. I logged many hours in P3D with the A2A bird and found her an interesting aircraft to fly in her category.

Not sure if you mean me, but I prefer the Bonanza for a number of fairly superficial reasons.

No matter - if A2A's MSFS Comanche is as good as anticipated, I'll happily make it my primary GA addon.

I'm really hoping the Aerostar is "coming soon" as it's far more attractive to me.

But the true A2A dream machine for me is the Civ Mustang 🙂

For me, especially in this class of aircraft, it's all about the flight model. There are very few, if any, other addons that make me feel as close to the real thing.

The rest of the Accu-Sim tech is icing on the cake.

I think I found the real problem that annoys me: the ugly green panel! reminds me of russian helicopter/spacecraft panels. Only pink would be worse. There is a reason most airplanes use 50 shades of grey for their panels.

Shouldn't be a problem. They also offered a panel with white instead of the green in P3D, assuming they carry that over to MSFS. The retro green is Scott's personal aircraft.

The A2A Comanche for FSX was absolutely amazeballs.

After installing it, I set a random number of hours on the airframe, I think it ended up at around 1500. That changed the characteristics for the aircraft, it became unique.
It felt like a real airplane.

I always flew my Comanche from the same airport I landed at.
I always did the walk-around checks. I always did the runup.
Except one day I decided to ignore the engine running a bit rough on the ground. I had checked the fuel, there was no water in it.
Shortly after takeoff, the engine started sputtering and then quit. In seconds, I frantically tried everything, throttle, RPM, mixture.
But nothing helped. I turned the aircraft sharply to the left towards the field, but didn't have enough altitude, and ended up in a ditch, front first.

That felt like the loss of a real aircraft, and shame on me for ignoring the engine running rough. I crashed that plane.

That's what Accu-Sim does to a simulator addon aircraft. It lifts it out of the computer and makes it unique and come alive.

Can hardly wait for the MSFS version.

Reading on older Facebook post by A2A on the comment section - Regarding a GPS Option:

Hopefully that means TDS GTN support and PMS support for those who have that option.

The available cockpit options are: no gps, GNS430, GNS530, GNS530+GNS430, PMS 750, TDS 750Xi.

Green or gray panel.

This was relative to the state of flight simulation then, not only to the real thing. There was a time when A2A was shining because most of the competitors were so mediocre (same for RealAir) and they were trying hard model after model. I was never tempted by their 172 but, in the same class, their Cherokee was nice !

Besides the amazing FM, Accusim is much more.
When I took the T-6 for instance. That plane was really alive and I was always cautious with it because I might do something with it which results in some failure at the next flight on which I am to blame. Also while taxiing, the plane shakes, rattles, coughs, etc.

To be honest A2A planes are too real for my type of flying. 🙂

Those are great options thank you!!

Any chance of seeing a KAP140 or GFC600 autopilot?  Some of the newer Garmin GPS would pair nicely with a more capable autopilot - especially for pitch control during rnav approaches.

I second that request. A more capable AP would be much appreciated.
