I was an alpha tester for MSFS 2020. Much to my horror they released that alpha for sale. I purchased it anyway the next day and then went right back to P3D until 2022 when at least the glaring bugs were addressed and high fidelity airliners became available. With the release of MSFS 2024 a year away and a lot of promises being made,  the question is like asking what you plan to wear on vacation next year - the answer is: it depends, but definitely not something I'm thinking about this year.

To sd_Flyer: I yield to someone even pickier than I am! Looks like I've met my match.

There's always someone in threads with a poll who complains there's an option missing.😒

Hi!🙋‍♂️

My vote would be "Possibly, but I'm in no rush" or "Maybe, depends on how MSFS 2020 support and development continues".

Not to mention whether I can justify the cost when the time comes.

I am currently in the planning phases of a serious new PC for flight simming.

If they deliver what they were preaching, you may not need a monster machine for it.
I’ll be getting it day one, they do deserve my money for advancing what I love.

Definitely day one purchase for me.

Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

Yep, Day (Minute) 1 for me. I hope there is alot more news to come on features, eg ATC has not been mentioned AFAIK. Also, wouldn’t it be great to be able to go Direct To somewhere on the VFR Map while flying, and to see details of other aircraft on the VFR map, and to see how far away other fliers are in the Sim etc etc. Cheers.

My purchase will not be Day One. It will be Hour One -- probably from Kiribati.

My only concern is that I'll have to upgrade my MSFS2020 polo shirts. 🙂

Get 2 or 3 of those shirts,  David.

IIRC, you were having issues with packs of wild women trying to tear them right off of your back. 😷

That's indeed an ongoing peril. It's like the Beatles or Elvis in the 1960s. In reality, however, I do actually own two of the MSFS polo shirts -- a navy blue one, like the Asobo team wears, and a bright red one. They're really very nice Nike shirts with "Microsoft Flight Simulator" tastefully embroidered into the fabric. I ordered them from Sporty's. One of my newest friendships resulted from my wearing one of the shirts into a local UPS shipping facility about a month ago (to ship back my dysfunctional computer that I've mentioned elsewhere on this forum). The gentleman who waited on me instantly started talking about all the sims he'd owned over the years and the rig he was now building for himself. We would never have made this connection if I hadn't been wearing that shirt on that particular day.

likewise. I plan to get it long before that, on beta Day One.

as I did with MSFS 2020 beta, december 2019, I think 6 months before release?

I forgot about that. We might not have to wait until 2024 after all.
