Absolutely. Measly $60 bucks to support my primary flight platform and as it'll become the main focal point of Asobo going forward, of course I'll get on the train.

It took two years before I bought MSFS, so I'm pretty sure the same will happen with MS 2024. Maybe not two years, but definitely not on day one. I spend a fortune in addons in the whole ms series of flightsims, P3D and X-Plane, so MSFS is my first sim with ONLY freeware from flightsim.to, and I will probably do the same with MS2024. Call me cheap if you like, but with the quality of freeware like Gatwick, FBW A320, FSLTS etc. I don't see the need for payware.

I forgot about that. We might not have to wait until 2024 after all.

I wonder if they'll invite previous alpha testers to test Msfs 2024?

The big thing for me is seeing what 3rd party aircraft makers are doing.  We know things will be compatible, but with the physics and flight changes, I'm guessing most add-ons are going to need some tweaking.  What I don't want is to buy 2024 and then be sitting around waiting for 3rd party a/c updates.  Hopefully MS gets them involved in testing and everything is smooth, but who knows.

Either way, I am never a "day 1" type.  More like day 4+.

My understanding from the Expo is, the new flight physics and soft body model does not require any modification if developers don't want to. It'll just port over 1:1 and work like before. However, if they want to take advantage of these improvements, they need to modify it with extra definitions of surfaces and points where forces are to take effect. So it isn't a complete overhaul of the system, just more detail in how many areas on the plane are affected by external forces.
