No brainer day 1 purchase for me, especially since 2020 will continue to work after 2024 releases so there is no danger of losing current sim & stability experience.

Yep, Day (Minute) 1 for me. I hope there is alot more news to come on features, eg ATC has not been mentioned AFAIK.

See https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/635334-in-depth-interview-jorg-seb-on-msfs-2024-after-fsexpo23/ where they definitely hint ATC rework is coming when asked about it.

I wonder if they'll invite previous alpha testers to test Msfs 2024?

Also addressed in interview above:

Vasco: So, you are around a year away from releasing this, is that about right?

Jorg: We have to fly it. That’s sort of the next steps. The SDK has to be released and we have some target dates, but it’s ready when it’s ready. We’re going to ship it out to the developer community as soon as we can.

Some people ask, why did we announce it so early? Well, it’s all relative. As a platform, you have some responsibility to the people that work on the platform. We wanted to give a heads up, “Hey, something new is coming”, and the next step is the tools. It gives them enough time to adjust whatever they want to make adjustments, but they don’t need to adjust anything if they don’t want to. If they want to take advantage of some of the new systems, there’s some work and we give them enough time to do the work.

Then we’ll go in and alpha and beta. We’ll get input from simmers and make sure that the thing is ready to go before we lock in a ship date. We always have a ship date target. But it’s software development. The reality is you have to keep your head a little bit flexible on these things and seeking feedback is key, actually.

Day 1 purchase for me.

System: I ASRock X670E | AMD 7800X3D | 64Gb DDR5 6000 | RTX 4090 | 2TB NVMe | Seasonic Vertex 1000W I LG Ultra Gear 34 UW I

Day 1 purchase for me depends on whether it's an actual functional release this time or if the bugs identified in testing are ignored again

I will wait to see exactly what the new sim contains, will read a few reviews and watch a few videos to see if FS2004 is actually worth purchasing.

From what I have seen and read so far it sounds very promising though I have little interesting the game like additions they are suggesting will be included.

If it looks significantly better, performs significantly better and the flight dynamics, avionics, etc. are considerably better then I'm sure I will be buying it.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

The only thing that would delay me is if I can't run them side by side.

Day one no doubt.  If its $60 like 2020 why not? I spend more than that eating out weekly and I poop that back out in a couple days lol

I’d like to hear the pricing first. ie. Is it going to be a one time purchase, or a subscription?

Oh god, don't start 😅

dude, really?

Anyway, day 1 purchase for me and i need it to come out tomorrow lol

5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX  9070XT.

I'll have to wait what all the devs do first: Continue parallel development? Switch to 2024 only?
Also I'll have to wait what 2024 actually gives me as an airline pilot. Until now there's absolutely nothing for me in 2024.

But even if I end up buying it, most likely I will wait a couple of months until it's in a solid state. Big incentive would be e.g. the PMDG 747 or the FBW A380 being released exclusively on MSFS 2024.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

subscription obviously. 🤣

1st edition: MSFS in 2020

2nd edition: MSFS 2024 forced upon us.

and so on for the next 10 years.

you can check out anytime but you can never leave.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

I pre-ordered MSFS2020 but 2024 is definitely not a day1 purchase for me. However, if it has a good ATC implementation and good AI, I’ll be on-board shortly after release. I already have a nice VFR sim.

I appreciate all you “Day 1-ers” testing it for all us “wait-and-see-ers”

FS9 was 100% worth purchasing 😁

Multi threaded performance, handy when flying in to EGLL for example?
