FREE New Addon: FSX Google Earth Flight Recorder

Recommended Posts

Guest MikeWilson

Hello Marlin,I'm glad you enjoyed it!I like the idea of marking out the total length of the trip, I'll make sure that gets added. There is a way to combine the different files, but currently FSXGEFR doesn't do it. I like the suggestion, and so I'll make that happen too :)And also, pausing the sim doesn't stop taking readings. But - you can stop recording and start recording again when you're back, and open multiple files in Google Earth. Another good suggestion, I'll see what I can do :)Thanks also for the attachment :@)Best Regards,Mike

Will download as soon as I reinstalled everything, put in my new vidcard and downloaded a few choice areas with Tileproxy. Always a pleasure to see creativity and elegance at work.

I found a way change the color of your flight path by right clicking the pyramid looking thing then go to the color tab and change that once you have the Earth program going.

Marlin,Thanks for the tip. In the meantime, if you get the latest version (1.2), this allows you to change the colour before you record. Many thanks,Mike

Thanks Mike! I'll be getting the new version. The mind go's crazy with utilities and possibilities like this.Do you think it would be ever possible to interface something like this with say flightaware.com and follow any aircraft, commercial/ga live as they go on their flights?http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgForum Moderatorhttp://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

Hello,Yes, of course. I wonder where FlightAware get their data from? They sell a commercial query aggregator, but that costs a cent per query. I'll have a look around for a free public domain data source, as it would be a useful feature to add, not just for Flight Sim :)As an aside, I plan to port this application to Tablet PC (with GPS) and Windows Mobile (Pocket PC) after a good batch of new features have been done :)

I am wondering if you could pull the data off the track log web page after the fact (for free).If so-I think you would have quite a few pilot's that would love to re live their flights on google earth after the fact. The track log page shows for example on a recent flight of mine:Time Position Groundspeed Altitude Eastern TZ Latitude Longitude kts Feet 02:46PM 38.67 -121.60 122 700 02:47PM 38.65 -121.63 134 1600 02:49PM 38.73 -121.65 158 2800 02:50PM 38.77 -121.67 151 3600 02:51PM 38.82 -121.67 144 4500 02:52PM 38.85 -121.67 150 5300 02:52PM 38.87 -121.67 152 5400 02:53PM 38.90 -121.67 145 6100 02:53PM 38.90 -121.67 147 6200 02:54PM 38.93 -121.68 145 6800 02:54PM 38.93 -121.68 147 6900 02:55PM 38.97 -121.70 145 7600 02:55PM 38.98 -121.70 153 7700 02:56PM 39.02 -121.72 151 8400 02:57PM 39.05 -121.73 151 9100 02:58PM 39.08 -121.75 146 9700 02:59PM 39.13 -121.77 140 10000 03:00PM 39.17 -121.78 151 10000 03:01PM 39.22 -121.80 162 10000 03:02PM 39.27 -121.80 167 10000 03:03PM 39.32 -121.77 167 10000 03:04PM 39.37 -121.73 174 10000 03:05PM 39.42 -121.70 174 10000 03:06PM 39.47 -121.68 174 10000 03:07PM 39.50 -121.65 174 10000 03:08PM 39.55 -121.63 179 10000 03:09PM 39.60 -121.60 179 10000 03:10PM 39.65 -121.58 179 10000 03:11PM 39.70 -121.55 174 10000 03:12PM 39.73 -121.53 174 10000 03:13PM 39.78 -121.50 174 10000 03:14PM 39.83 -121.47 174 10000 03:15PM 39.88 -121.43 174 10000 I have a tablet pc I use in my aircraft with gps so looking forward to what you come up with. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgForum Moderatorhttp://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

Glad you like 1.3 - there are other improvements in the pipeline for this free version, but it looks like I'll have another busy week next week so thought that I might as well put the latest changes out as a new version so you can have them early. Hope you don't mind upgrading so quickly!Have a look at the release notes (online at: http://www.evolvedsoftwarestudios.com/help...8B0C987%7D.htm) and you'll see your name in lights! Thanks for the flight recording :)
