Thanks, once they release the patch I take you up on the offer.  It's off my system at the moment, awaiting the patch.

They sure are moving at a snails pace...

I wish Austin would deprogram the Nose Gear slamming to the ground feature on landings. Completely unrealistic.  Must have been fixed since that last update!

You don’t even have it installed?

Oh.  Well the offer stands.  Reinstall it and let's figure out what's going on.

Out of curiosity, what were the copy paste emails Laminar sent you?  Also, how many support tickets did you send for them to reply with emails (plural)?  I happen to know Ben Supnik or 1 or 2 other people personally respond to every support ticket to make sure they know exactly what is happening, along with requesting exact steps to reproduce the problems one might have.  A copy paste wouldn’t work in that situation.
Personally, after spending money on it, and asking for help, I would’ve just left it installed and gotten it working again. So would every single person I know. I can’t imagine installing it all over again, when I could have just left it installed until an update came out. Doesn’t make any sense at all to get rid of it.
How about you just install the base sim, no scenery, run it, see if it crashes or freezes or whatever it does to make you think it’s “broken” and dm me a log file. More than happy to check it out for you.

Still waiting for you to get back to me about X-Plane 12 not working for you, @fluffyflops (I'd rather call you Peter).

It doesn't take long to install X-Plane without the scenery.  Maybe 10-15 minutes.  I'm very interested to see what's happening, because if it's something isolated to your specs, Laminar are definitely interested in knowing about it, so they can fix it asap.

I've already spoken to them about your problem, and that you've sent multiple emails.  I've also mentioned to them that you've told me you received standard copy/paste replies back, and they have disputed this.

Could you possibly clear this up, either with me or them, so any misunderstandings are put to rest?

I'm happy to forward them any comments you have on the matter.

I certainly hope they address whatever your issue was that warrants you labelling it "broken".  I've tried a number of things on my end to see if X-Plane breaks under the latest update, and I have found nothing.  Loads up every time.  No CTD's.  No lock ups.

Please, feel free to contact me again should the update you want to wait for causes your install of X-Plane 12 to crash or freeze.  I find enigmatic problems extremely fascinating.

6 months down the road and still no large update.

I'd certainly count v12 as a helluva large update over v11...

And positively bunches of others:

https://www.x-plane.com/kb/x-plane-12-00-release-notes/

And we're pulling up to v12.06, so that's one update a month, give or take:

https://www.x-plane.com/2023/05/whats-new-in-x-plane-12-05-and-12-06-short-term-roadmap/

All things considered, very good progress is being made.

Finally got some spare time to watch it.

Stuff I didn't know:

volumetric fog and rain required for level D sim, coming to everyone (omg yeeess)

Rwy one building full motion platform, "level D for your home"

Tolis A320 Neo new release making solid progress

FF777 new release making solid progress

Lots of FAA certified hardware in process, XP12 Cirrus SR22 getting certified

New scenery part of the long term plan

Stuff worth repeating:

Perf fix/updates in progress

Big cloud, sky and weather updates

Aircraft carrier loving

Beta aircraft development collaboration still going strong

openXR support coming very soon - VarjoXR support (for those with very deep pockets)

All in, a very typical "low key" discussion from LR of all the reasons they are light years ahead 😇

Just need some developers to make planes to land on it.

Opt-in option and with a command line arg like --zink that will also eliminate the need for --d3d11_vr?

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

I did a very very quick test with monado a month or so ago.

(they are also actually making progress with PSVR2 drivers)

Tested with their built-in testing tools? They're also moving along with WMR controllers. I've been hoping LR is aware of their work.

And make something that can be done with said planes. I'd be content with A-G ranges and shooting at drones spy balloons.
