The road was only blocked for a couple of minutes. For the benefit of our cousins RAF Northolt is around 10 miles north of Heathrow and as its name suggests is a military airfield. The late Queen Elizabeth’s body was flown from Edinburgh to Northolt last September.

Pity the camera didn’t catch the price of petrol at the Shell garage. Your jaw might have dropped! 🤣

1.39GBP per litre near me. 4.54 litres to a U.K. gallon. 6.31GBP per gallon.

$1.27 to 1GBP makes that $8 a gallon. 😳

Hi Ray,

We're looking at $5+ here in Washington State so we're not too far behind you in fuel cost.  O course, Washington State doesn't have an income tax.  Everything else is taxed to make up.  $0,50 per gallon currently for road gas.  it's just the cost of doing business and keeping the fat cats in clover.

As the C-17 was reversing prior to stopping & unloading, I saw that the aft ramp was partially open. Does the C-17 have a rear camera view screen in the cockpit like cars when they reverse, or is there someone at the ramp on the intercom to the cockpit and saying “OK, keep going … keep going… that’s it … STOP!!!!!” 🤣

James, ours is 60% more expensive than yours. The petrol companies are getting criticised for not dropping their prices quickly enough.

No income tax? Lucky buggers! We are heavily taxed over here after the pandemic followed by fuel hikes last year after the invasion of Ukraine meant the govt bailing us out to subsidise winter fuel bills.

Some few gas stations in America sell gas on July 4th to tie in with the year 1776. But it goes back to $4.50 the next day.

I'm old enough to remember when regular gas was $0.299 per gallon. Yesterday I saw 87 octane gas is currently as low as $2.899 per gallon. I should go and fill my car's tank!

Mad props to the backing skills of the pilots of those massive aircraft.

I wonder, when did the Military Police get the powers to block a public road here?

Their powers over civilians are very limited.

What would have happened if somebody had just driven around them?
