Toliss Airbus A319 and XP12

Featured Replies

Where to start - first not an Airbus person, so far! Lot of time wasted in Boeings, 2,3 and 4 engines, few Douglas' s too! The Toliss A319 Airbus is my first foray into the Airbus world. What it reveals is a serious reproduction of an Airbus A319. Complex to its depth and system rich, The infamous Airbus Law! Side stick and fly by wire! So it is a leap for an old driver who is more comfortable in a steam guage environment! So now I am giving myself and Airbus ground school - because of the depth and complexity below that simple exterior of managed flight guidance and flight control to move a pressurised hull with 140 folks on board and fuel to go 3500 nm, Not sure if it is the square of the aeroplanes shape that is it is 111 ft long and 111 ft wing tip to wing tip - a perfect square! The engines are capable of between 22000 and 27000 lbs of static thrust (Compared say to a Boeing 737 with 3 Jt8Ds that had 22000 lbs of thrust for 150 pax) so the A319 has some 5000 lbs of thrust on a an old Boeing!, Engines all run by the FADEC - navaids are automatically detected identified and loaded into navigation system, flight management via a flight plan for dep to arrival is mandatory! So all this is modelled and reproduced along with timings for system functions or changes. So yes I would say it is a sim model that requires you learn how to fly an Airbus to appreciate and enjoy.

Side note - textures are fine and all VC activity via the mouse is fine, No glitches. Flight save mode is a gem too,

So I put that inside XP!2 and you have a simply outstanding flight simulation, The XP World is entirely believably, scaled perfectly and entirely believable, The weather and lighting is impressive inside and outside the aeroplane,

As for the Airbus Toliss experience - this is without a doubt the most detailed, high level functionality high level facsimile of a real aeroplane I have yet encountered in any flight simulation programs past and present. Highly credible and very taxying for the slow witted!

On my way,

Pretty much my feelings too regarding Toliss.

Actually it all started with the QPAC 320, and then GW decided to move into a "professional" payware series, which has brought to llive the 319, the 321, the 340 and recently the 320 too 🙂

I'd say it's the FSLabs of X-Plane.

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Yeah. Agree to all of the above. I have the 319 and the 340 and they are really good! Highly recommended to everyone 'on the fence'.

Yes highly agree….I have gave the A319 and A321…thinking about getting their latest offering A320 Neo….any thoughts?? …it looks great!

I absolutely love this plane, got it in the early versions and watched it grow into the awesome product it is now. Toliss does an outstanding job of bringing improvements to it. Performance was always really good but I noticed that with 1.9 it got even better, and given how complex it is, I think it shows that x-plane is capable of much more. I really hope the rest of x-plane will get on par with the amazing aircraft we get for this platform.

Well it looks like for someone who is not a an airbus person, I say you really took the time and really did your homework on this aircraft. I see the passion in your writing that you really enjoy your experience with the Toliss and what better time to try and airbus is now with all the feature and capabilities that they have put into that aircraft. I have them too and enjoy it them all.

Great post and enjoy.

I have, and really like, this aircraft. But I'd also add that one of the things I like about it is that I don't have to learn anything to be able to use it and get great pleasure out of it. I'm only into simming for the scenery and world view and visuals, and this is a great looking aircraft. I personally don't want to have to learn the intricacies of, well, anything really, before I head off down the runway and up to explore the world around me. More power to all you folk who care about that sort of thing, but for me, this is just a very fine looking aircraft and I'm getting a lot of pleasure out of it without worrying about any of its systems.

I may yet grab the A340 as well. I have a freeware vesrion but that's a bit cranky in XP12 as I think it was originally from XP10. What I'd really like is the 318 though. Just that little bit stubbier!

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

what do people think about these new textures they're using? Personally not really a fan.

From my view, I don't think it add or take away from what the OP describes in his experience of this aircraft. In time those things will be improve like everything else. At least we can say that we have such aircraft to pick from for our sim.

Can't wait to check out 1.9. Maybe the added details and reworked sounds finally put the A321 on par with Zibo's 737 in terms of being there.

Bjoern, I am not sure vis a vis the Zibo - yet to properly explore that one or the A321, I am not sure re accuracy-completeness in this simulation but so far I keep looking for stuff that is not there or does not work - so far nothing! The only thing you don't see is the boxes doing the work - FADEC FMGS MCDU FGCS not to mention comprehensive system monitoring and status for each primary and secondary system - hydraulics, electricals, fuel, etc, All this stuff has to communicate - certainly appears to do that! The emergency gear extension handle works and functions, Underlying this is what I can only say is some computing mastery - getting all the scripts and definitions sorted - certainly knows how to work the Laminar electrical system logic, Smart enough to give you a workable MCDU that can upload plans and data such as SimBrief or recognise no current Navigraph or other navdata source and use the default Laminar without protest.

Texturing and internal control and instrumentation all looks fine to me - the variable light controls work as they should. I guess sitting at a computer it gives me a very good visual appreciation of sitting in the control seat of an Airbus, Interior could be tidier but is acceptable - anyway I am not deadheading the thing! Some minor glitches on outside texture paints only,

Looking at the capacity for failures and emergencies - it appears fill your boots! Hard or as easy as you like, Or just go easy know that it is going to work and enjoy the drive like Andy1252 does.

I havent gone anywhere proper yet but I have to say I really like this A319.

Beware, now the A20N, A321 and A346 gonna creeping into your hanger 👀

I actually get A346 first as there is no counterpart, but after that, all Toliss fleet got into my hanger even when I already have FSL, just can't resistance.

I haven't checked the new sounds since I have both the BSS and the FTSim packs. But from the streams I saw that even the A320 sounds aren't that good. That's an area Toliss should improve.

It isn't about the completeness, but about the cockpit atmosphere, something which Zibo's 737 somehow does just right, thanks in no part to the sounds.
