Yikes I really hope it doesn’t turn out that you can only use live traffic.

Precise and then they are missing out big time 😉 try to fly with FSTL at a different time 😶 live traffic yeah, but no history data...
Anyway different taste but not for me prefer AIG at this point in time also the performance is great 🙂

As for ATC if it's only live AI then I skip this one not interested

I‘ll be clear: Since this apparently leads to Beyond ATC being able to ONLY use live traffic (and not flight plans with AIG) ...

How do you come to this idea?

I do like that FSHud injects traffic from both FSLTL and AIG. I'm hoping that Beyond ATC will consider this as well.

Indeed. I see no reason to assume that BeyondATC would limit themselves to live traffic. Even if they base their traffic on live traffic  and not canned flight plans they could still offer a time shift function, like PSXT does. Looking at the scope of BeyondATC I have no doubt they will offer different traffic options.

What does FShud do that FSLTL doesn't do, other than cost money?

First, FSHud is an ATC addon (like for example PF3), FSLTL is not.

Second, FSHud controls AI traffic by itself. FSLTL just injects it and lets it control by the sim.

Both aspects together make FSHud a complete ATC / AI solution (when it is ready) where both the user and AI traffic are controlled on the same level and interact with each other (other than for example PF3 and the sim-controlled AI traffic).

BeyondATC now fortunately is committed to do the same (and more, probably).

Right and that is why FSHud is, for me, the only ATC/Traffic option that I will use. It is a complete solution. So far, from what I am reading, Beyond ATC will be better. It looks better, it sounds better, and appears to work better. But, we'll have to wait until it's actually available to see if all of that is really the case or not.

so far we as AIG have not been contacted by the developer. We offer a public documentation regarding our fileformat, so it could be that the Devs only need that to get AIG working, but this might result in some AIGTC specific features getting lost.

Right - FSHud was able to that. But, as you note, some AIGTC features were lost in the process. I hope that BATC will consider using AIG along with FSLTL.

Well it’s not a hassle.

Especially with their new installer.

FSHud also looses some features, but we will see what the next few months will show us here on BATC, at the moment we are working on new features that I am sure will not work with any external Injector.

but unfortunately the external injection is the only viable way to have decent IA and asobo looks like doesn't care much about ai logic they always talking  about models and liveries improves and not improve  in basic ai logic and looks like in msfs 2024 gonna be the same so the internal way always gonna be limited by what asobo does, this only can be save if Working tittle Team put their hand on the atc

we have to wait and see, so far the SDK has some major issues that prevent us from progressing in the right directions. ASOBO and MS are ware of those issues and we provided already some major feedback that they are currently breaking down for a later implementation.

Why Working Title? They are into Avionics.

If the guys at BeyondATC are as good as it appears to be, it would be smart for MS/Asobo to contact them for a cooperation.

well, several months ago they said that they have on their plans improve or rebuild the default atc

Ok, I missed that.

They said it themselves in the quoted post a couple of pages back. Unless I completely misunderstood.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

He started by saying:

Injector Data Source: We do not yet know which data source we will use for traffic injection.

I agree with you that being limited to real time live traffic wouldn't be a smart move, but I expect them to be aware if that.

It will be a shame if FSHUD and Beyond ATC end up with good products about the same time as Asobo overhauls the default ATC (likely as part of MSFS 2024 at this rate). Asobo should just collaborate here. Otherwise it could all be a bunch of duplicate wasted effort.
