W11 desktop blinking without icons

Worked fine this morning but when I started my pc this afternoon the issue was there.Even in safe mode the desktop is blinking without icons.

In processes I can see the Explorer gets interrupted…

No other display drivers since a few weeks.I can only open a Window with CTRL-Alt-Del.

All help is welcome ….

You could try to force restart windows explorer or, delete the Iconcache.db

• Open File Explorer > Folder Options > Views to show Hidden System Files.
• Next, go to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local folder
• Delete the hidden IconCache.db file. Reboot.
• This action would purge and rebuild the icon cache.

Are you using a windows insider build?

Thanks for trying to help butI cannot open anything. Only with CTRL-ALT-Delete and that Window is about services etc.

Both Explorer services keep on starting and shutting down continuously.

After disconnecting 1 display ( I always have 2 displays connected ) I can see the icons appearing and disappearing :

Does the system respond to Windows key + R?

Google how to start Win11 in safe mode. Do so and see if the problem still exists. If not, it's likely a driver problem (or something like that).

Unfortunately it also exists in Safe Mode. I swapped the 4099 for the 4080 but the result is the same…

Gerard, i found an instruction in german language, could be a similar problem (although i think i saw your task bar on top of your screen).

Read carefully through it, perhaps there is a hint for your problem,

I had the exact same problem in May and resolved in same manner by force start system recovery and revert newly installed windows update.

Since then I have disabled windows update all together (delayed it until 2077).

IDK if I still want to update my windows anyway....
