how come I can't get FSX to look like this??

Making screenshots is an art. Mine look just like those. It just takes some practice and knowledge of the software. A lot of it has to do with picking the locations that stand out visually.

>I think mine even looks better with fex and utx and I have>the same video card.>What about your monitor?>http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg>Forum Moderator>http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/I don't have fex and utx. My monitor is a samsung and it definetley is a great monitor. It cost me $300.I have no idea where to start as far as anti-aliasing and what filtering is concerned among other things. I don't know any tweaks but I want to get this tweaked. I'm really curious how much better the graphics can actually be with a better graphics card if at all. I wish I could see some comparison shots with say a geforce 7600 gs such as my card versus the best card out there or any 8000 series in the same location of course.

I have a Geforce 7600 GS 256MB, and they've always looked that good, or better! At least until recently, that is. With a few 3rd party downloads here & there, my FSX got corrupted with a bad case of the shimmers. I got the shimmers out, but now have a combination of blurries and bad frame rates. Have never used SP1, either. Going to have to dissolve it all, and start over, I suppose. All was good, for close to a year.L.AdamsonAthlon 3800+/ 2gig/ Geforce 7600GS/ 1600*1200*32 res.

Some of those shots are at wide zooms as well, which makes a huge difference in how good the terrain looks. Try zooming out and see what it looks like.

Yep, look at the effect zoom has....this is max zoomed out..... .39 or something....Zooming out doesn't let the viewer notice the blurry textures hehehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/179139.jpg

Here is the interesting thing. A real shot with no zoom-fsx at 1.0 zoom and .50 zoom-which one matches reality?...and yes-less than .50 zoom looks great-a coincidence-seems to match the real shot?http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgForum Moderatorhttp://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/179156.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/179157.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/179158.jpg

The ground textures are much more blurry. They aren't as crisp or sharp as those FSX pics. For some reason some of those farmland ground textures look not so bad for me but then in Connecticut where I live for example the grass that they have for the landclass ends up being very blurry. Is all of FSX landclass or is there any areas in FSX that are photoscenery??

Anything less than 75mm is wider, and anything more is zoomed in.

You are right about that. I guess more accurately-that is the real world viewpoint one sees from the left seat-and to get the same on fs I find .50 or so gives that correct perspective-at least in the Baron. Everything looking sharper is a nice benefit.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgForum Moderatorhttp://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/
