Just Flight Fokker F28 rudder issue?

Featured Replies

I bought the Just Flight Fokker F28 last week and its a pretty cool airplane but I have one odd issue with my setup.  My setup is fairly simple older CH Flight Stick and I use the keyboard for some stuff.  Basically just the default setup for keyboard commands.  On the F28 for some reason my rudder won't recenter pressing the 5 key on the number pad on my keyboard.  The 0 and ENTER key on the number pad move the rudder and the 5 key should center it but it does not.  The F28 is the one and only aircraft that this happens on.  Everything else is okay.  I checked my keyboard maps this morning and the 5 key definitely should center the rudder but does not on the F28.  Its a fairly complex aircraft so maybe I am forgetting something in the cockpit?

Shame on me for having a simple setup but my wife and daughter use the computer for school work and video editing plus whatever else so its not practical having a super fancy setup.  It works for me most of the time except for the Just Flight F28.

Nose wheel steering is the same thing.  The 5 Key should center the nose wheel but does not.  I played with the steering lock button on the right side but that only locks the nose wheel in place.  Has no affect on the rudder behavior.  Basically at this point the plane is not really usable.  Most flights result in a rudder hard over incident and trying to get the rudder exactly center is almost impossible.

Yeah I tried messing with that.  Nothing works with it locked.  In the unlocked position I can hit full thrust and everything works except for the rudder.  Rudder works but won't center.  It takes some work to get it back to 0 position dead center.  Almost impossible in the air since it wants to hard over.

When I bought it the version 1.1.  I know they made some changes to the rudder since it was not working on XBox.  They probably broke it for standard set ups.  Might need a hot fix for those with simple setups like mine.

My friend has a newer joystick that turns on axis for rudder control and he is not having the problem.  It's just those who use the keyboard for rudder control its a problem.  Assignments are okay so not sure how to fix it!

It has been reported on the Just Flight forum by a few but no response.  I may try and email them.  Nose wheel steering uses the same keys and they don't center either but at least that happens on the ground.
