Featured Replies

My 737 suddenly started displaying strange stickers on the fuselage ?

No MODs installed.

Only addons are Fenix and the PMDG...

Any ideas?  Thx!

[12AUG23] URGENT NOTAM for PMDG 737 MSFS Users

12Aug2023, 06:44

Captains,

This is an urgent NOTAM for all PMDG 737 Operators in the MSFS platform.

WHAT:
On 11AUG23, we issued a new build for all 737s to bring users up to build 3.00.0071. For reasons that are currently undetermined, certain files that are part of the update are not being properly transmitted, resulting in the loss of certain decals and details on the external model of the airplane and yield rather topical Barbie-pink patches in places that should be covered with decals.

WHEN:
This problem affects customers who run the micro-update out of the PMDG Operations Center. It does NOT affect users who install the latest build from the PMDG installer that can be downloaded through your user account at pmdg.com

HOW TO CORRECT:
At this time, we recommend that affected users uninstall the 737 from MSFS, then download the installer from their user account at pmdg.com. The installer does not exhibit this behavior if you uninstall, then reinstall the 737 as we recommend. You do not need to uninstall your liveries in order to effect this update.

[16AUG23] PMDG 737 for MSFS Updated to Build 3.00.0072

17Aug2023, 00:54

Captains-

PMDG 737 MSFS: Micro Update to 3.00.0072 via Operations Center:
A quick advisory to let you know that we have just released a new update via the PMDG Operations Center. This update brings your 737 current to build 3.00.0072.

The primary purpose of this update is to fix the "Barbie Decal" problem that we experienced with our 3.00.0071 update from Friday.

There are no other changes in this build, aside from a fix for the decal issue that occurred only through the 3.00.0071 micro update. If you installed build 71 from the installer that you downloaded from pmdg.com, then this update will simply bring you up to date with the version number- there are no functional differences.

Safest bet: If the Operations Center tells you that you have an update available- go ahead and update. Then you will have the lastest!

Thank you guys, problem is that the PMDG OP CENTRE tells me my 737 is up2date 😕

Will reinstall it then ...

Big thx for your prompt replies !!!

The ops center is the issue for me .. using the ops center to update the version actually caused the textures to go missing in my case. Downloading the latest installation file and NOT updating via the ops center fixed the problem. I think i would like to delete the cache in the ops center but i do not know where it is.

Updating using the Ops Centre also did not solve the issue for me, despite it showing the latest version. The 737 is fine but the 739 still has Barbie patches on it. I will see if a fresh install helps.

Seems PMDG may have some more work to do on the Ops Centre updater.

Anyway,

for me it's ok provided those patches are the ONLY idiosyncrasies introduced by that patch - I can perfectly live with it 🙂 because I seldom use external views anyway...

You should refer to the PMDG forums. If I recall it was recommended to re-download the installer and run it.

Just to confirm that a fresh download of the 739 corrected the problem

However, the latest update on the Ops Centre did not correct it; in fact, I skipped 3.071, the update where the issue was introduced, and went right to 072, which actually introduced the barbie patch problem on the 739. Seems we are all better off just redownloading and bypassing Ops Centre. What I will probably do going forward.

I had the pink patches inside the cockpit as well...  But only on the 739, not the -8 or -7.
