FSR 3 Coming - Frame Generation for RTX 20,30,40 Series

Both Nvidia and AMD recommend that you should have at least 60fps native for FG to work properly, so I don't see much benefit with it in a simulator, I didn't notice any improvement between 60 and 120fps when I tested it.

The reason for this is because in fast moving scenes, common in shooters, it’s harder to accurately build a generated frame with so much time and motion between frames at lower FPS. This is generally not going to be an issue here in MSFS.

Does this mean NV 30xx cards will get frame generation with DLSS 3.5? All I want is FG support for my 3090. That would be awesome!

Doesn’t FG require silicon support that’s unique to the 4xxx series? Even if they can work anround that, I imagine if FG can work on older NV GPUs it will not be as efficient or performant.

really hope Asobo will implement this long awaited feature.

.... great news coming from AMD ... every software improvement in order to have a better graphic card experience are good news, even if it is coming from AMD, NVIDIA or INTEL ... it is so simply "competence", this is the only way you are going to benefit much better from your hardware .... today the only way to improve your frames is  "brute force" so buy a new generation GC to have a better experience ... don't you think the hardware you already own is good enough to give you a nice landing in KJFK ? ... yes it is ! ... but is cheaper not to develop better software for your hardware, and to sell you a new GC ....

Not with DLSS3,5 but with AMD FS3.

Great news, if true 😁

Now, the big question: when will be available in drivers? After that, I can speculate when will this be available for MSFS 🙃

Having read the press release from AMD I am still unclear if this (FSR3) requires specific application support or software from AMD installed.  Presumably AMD drivers would not be the solution so I would expect integration within each application with AMDs APIs (supporting Nvidia cards, for example) would be the mode of delivery of FSR3 tech however that just isn't clear in what I read.  Does anyone know?

Every bit helps. My specs are similar to yours.

The Ryzen 5 7800X3D is only $291 at Amazon. Last year at this time it was the best gaming cpu in the world. A small tube of heat sink paste and a 9mm or 18mm snap exacto knife blade to slice the old cpu off of the cooler head. A couple hours time is what it takes to swap. Plenty of Youtube video show how its done.

Another good thing about Ryzen 5 7800X3D: it takes DDR 4 Ram, instead of the new DDR 5 RAM. And only a 650 watt power supply (like you probably have right now). And it will work on an AM4 motherboard instead of the new AM5). If you upgraded to something else, you would need to buy all that stuff. But you don't need to buy any of that stuff to upgrade to Ryzen 5 7800X3D. I hear they aren't making that GPU anymore, but there are till lots of them as lots of folks are running to buy the newer hardware (many dollars).

Fielder kindly asking  please re read and edit/correct the items in the post.

I think you are referring to the 5800X3D which is AM4 Platform compatible and thus uses DDR4 RAM as opposed to the 7800X3D which is the AM5 Platform and requires DDR 5 RAM. It is also not a GPU but rather a CPU.

So if you can double check and make sure you have your names and terms correct so everyone is on the same page.

DLSS 3.5 is an improvement on the implementation of ray tracing on Nvidia GPUs. As of now MSFS doesn’t have any kind of Ray Tracing implemented (global illumination, shadows or reflections).

Maybe Asobo will be more interested in its implementation now that Nvidia is moving another step further with the technology. It looks better and sometimes has better FPS.

Does 3.5 need developer integration, or is it just a user download dll? (Not asking for MSFS, for other games).
