They must have had a limited time exclusivity contract with MS, and now they are allowed to sell them externally.

I know what some people think of Carenado, but I have actually enjoyed a few of their last releases, and I would like to know what they intend to release next.
I liked their PA-23 Aztec and PA-31 Navajo in particular in FSX / P3D. 

If a partnership was formed where A2A did the aircraft systems and flight dynamics, Carenado the internal and external modelling, and Fenix the customer support and communication, and all available though the JustFlight website, they would clean up and takeover the world!

I like the Seminole especially a lot. It was one of the first non-default twins to become available and it is really a nice aircraft.
It would be nice if Blacksquare could upgrade those Carenado aircraft to study a more complex level as they have done with a couple of defaults. Carenado probably has to agree though.

Well for a while the XP versions of Carenado aircraft had Thranda doing the ports and were substantially better than the originals (several got Simcoder REPs as well)

Carenado is no longer in my list of devs I would be interested in purchasing aircraft. Their aircraft visuals are great, everything else feels like a toy.

I figured the same, I bet if someone were to compare marketplace release dates with these new releases they’d see a similar pattern.

What's so special about that?

I wonder if this would allow one to modify the exterior lighting logic in some way so the beacon/strobes switch works correctly. Reported the issue but haven't seen a patch yet. The switch forces the user to select wingtip (white) strobes OR red tailfin beacon. The real switch is beacon only - off - strobes AND beacon.

By 'feels like a toy', I assume you are talking about flight models?  I own most of the Carenado range in MSFS and they all 'feel' fine to fly.  If you are refering to systems depth, then I would suggest you purchased the wrong product by not reading whats on the label or in the forums - it would be the same if I described Fenix or PMDG aircraft as over complex.

Most likely, it could be modified. For me, purchasing outside the MS Marketplace allows me access to customize the aircraft, adjusting flight model, systems, or other parameters,

Well although I am not connected with them in any way, and I don't want to do an advert, I must admit I am a bit partisan, as they are based not far from me in England.

Anyway, their customer support is friendly and helpful (I got an immediate refund once for buying a wrong product as I am sometimes a fool), I get emails about any updates for the products I have bought, with link access to the change log, the update and download system is simple, and the team attended the last Flight Simulator Show I went to at RAF Cosford, and they were a really nice approachable bunch of people / sim enthusiasts to talk to (including giving out nice discount vouchers at the show). 

And I don't know if you are aware, but they are closely affiliated to the Black Square developers and series of products.  I have quite a few of them, and until the Comanche came out, they were top!  I really love the C-208 and still fly it a lot - others prefer the A-36.  I'm looking forward to the Duke next.

Oh, and for about the same price point as other outlets for a given product, they seem to give very generous loyalty points towards follow-on purchases.

As someone else has mentioned, if Black Square teamed up with Carenado to put their internals into the Carenado shells, I am sure they would sell nicely and get a better reputation.  Until developing their own Duke model, they only had improvement packs for the Asobo default planes.

LOL, I didn't say they didn't fly.  If you are the kind that likes to just press the start switch and "weeee, here we go" kind of flyer, then Carenado is right for you, I suggest you keep buying from them.

Hey there gents.  I went ahead and purchased the Mooney from their store (already own the MP version).

Sometimes you have to spend a little money to experiment.

I'm happy to report all of the files previously locked under MP drm are totally accessible.  The model LOD 0 files, the aircraft.cfg, panel xml/cfg and the gauge files.

Someone could definitely update the flight model, or custom code some avionics, or basically change anything they want!  I'm already looking at a new paint I'd like to do with the LOD 0 gltf in Substance Painter.

I wish someone would take the Carenado Mooney and mod it into a Mooney TLS or one of the other hi-powered turbo engined versions.   

Seems like one of them had 300 horse + turbocharged.  Wowzers.
