Acceleration - F-18 problem

Recommended Posts

Guest bjablonka

The problem I have is that on the carrier Shift-I and Shift-U are not working, nothing happens. I went through the repair function on the disk, but it did not make any difference. Shift-Q works fine. Any ideas? Thanks!

Is your nose gear within the little red and white box on the deck? There are 4 launch spots I think...You gotta do shift+u, then shift+ithen full burner, then shift+space to release the cat....then poof, you're off!!

Thanks Ryan, but I am always right in the middle of the box. I even tried all the 4 different launch spots, but it is always the same - not working.

Try assigning the shift+u, and shift+i in your key assignments. They weren't assigned for me.

Thanks Gary, that did it. I don't know why those key assignments were removed, but who cares, they are working now. Again, thanks!

Hi FolksSave yourself some work, (there's a lot more remappings).Ensure FSX is not running. For XP, look in -C:Documents and SettingsUSERNAMEApplication DataMicrosoftFSXControlsRename Standard.xml to Standard_OLD.xmlIn the root of your FSX folder, you'll find a 'native' copy of the Standard.xmlCopy this to C:Documents and SettingsUSERNAMEApplication DataMicrosoftFSXControlsFire up FSX,and the configs will be applied.HTHATBPaulhttp://www.basys.f9.co.uk/resources/images..._sig_500x94.jpghttp://www.fs-odg.com

This is an Acceleration F-18 problem, but not regarding the carrier launch. When Im playing, the exterior noise of the F-18 is basically inaudible. It is so quiet in fact, that when I am doing a mission (escorting the Cessna Caravan outof Cape Canaveral) you can hear the roar of the Caravan engines from probably 2 miles away OVER the noise of the F18. Theres no way this is correct. Any ideas? I have in no way altered the plane. Stock out of box install of Acceleration. The freeware Superhornet is loud as #### so I know its not just a volume setting...

The first time you ran FSX after installing the XPack, did you answer Yes or No to the "Would you like us to update your key mappings" dialog (that's not the exact text)? If you answered No, then the keypresses weren't setup. If you answered Yes, then I don't know how your keypresses got unmapped.

There are issues with Realtek audio and SP2, where some of the external audio channels are not heard. Are you using Realtek audio? If you are using integrated motherboard audio its very likely you are, and the most recent driver does not help. I just installed a $30 Sound Blaster Audigy board to fix the SP2 audio issues.

I am using the Creative Soundblaster X-Fi sound card. I am not sure what version driver I have on there, but it is a dedicated soundcard I believe. Its also happened with one other freeware sound set, but its not as annoying as not being able to hear any of the FSX Acceleration aircraft. (the problem exists with the Eh-101, and P51 as well).

Any of the SB chipsets should be fine, so its not likely to be a sounds card issue. I'd certainly update the driver, and if that doesnt work maybe reinstall X-pack.
