But this is a sim. With the EFB linked to the FMC, which most users would welcome, if you wanted absolute realism you could simply not use the feature.   From what I can see, as it is, the PMDG EFB is completely pointless? I already have Navigraph charts available in the sim and SimBrief on an iPad.

It’s going to be great on console though with moving map and route etc on the tablet as you can’t use those functions on the navigraph app.

This is of course available already with the just flight tablet and FlightFX have this also but gone a step further with simlink integration so you can actually use the iPad navigraph tracking on your IPAD/whatever navigraph external app when flying on the Xbox.

Hopefully PMDG will have this also as it’s a game changer on Xbox.

I think PMDG have been surprised how many people on Xbox want high fidelity aircraft like their 737. They need to stop taking the pi$$ though with charging for liveries and multiple livery packs. Plus the old nav data on 737 on the console isn’t great.

You had the option of waiting to purchase until the EFB was released.......

This has nothing to do with the discussion. I was talking about that an update that completes a paid product is the mere legal (!) minimum and not a reason to celebrate the devs because it's "free". That I still wanted a 737 ASAP and had no other alternative does not change this a bit.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

If every Avsim member got an email tomorrow, saying that Avsim was going to send them $10,000 cash, I am positive that some people would be complaining about how the amount was too low, or why cash, and not a money order, or how about Paypal only. etc.. etc. etc.

Complaining about an underwhelming and extremely late EFB that merely finalized a paid product is not the same as complaining about a surprise gift of 10000$. Even you must get that.

Is it ok to celebrate the fact my sim experience will be better? because that's the only thing I will be celebrating.

Was a tablet promised when the 737 was announced/released?

If not, than that statement is wrong, the tablet doesn't complete the product, it adds onto it.

That's it?

That's the sum total of their efforts?

Effort does not equal results.

Good to see it finally being released, however, totally shocking that the 737NG Options and Settings still remain in the FMC and not part of the Tablet.

Very shocking indeed. And the main feature is made by another dev (Navigraph)

I know that. I just like being able to press the button to change from the EFB. Especially if I am on Unicom and a controller pops on.

With some light planning for having the frequencies along your flight path pre-entered in both COM1 and COM2, you can expedite frequency changes.  If this is your primary concern, you can assign a keystroke to the native MSFS control "COM1 SWITCH TO STANDBY" under RADIO | COMM.  I just wish this functionality were available for COM2 as well but currently it's not.

No, it's not my primary concern. It's just a convenience thing I like on FBW EFB. Since I don't fly the FBW much, I do use a flow42 utility to switch the freqs.

Yes it was. It's the only reason the 737 was called "early access" in the first place, because it was complete apart from that.
