Right after I purchased the 737-600 when it first came out, I bought the 800 version, and have flown it ever since. Now that I am flying on A Pilots Life, I decided to get the 600 out of the hangar, which I haven't touched since I bought the 800. I had forgotten what a nice aircraft this is to fly, especially on takeoff and landing when the light weight is quickly evident. From now on, I think I will switch back and forth between these two aircraft.

The 600 was the first version I bought, because it is at a relatively low price, and I wasn't sure if I would like the PMDG model.
I liked it that much I ended up buying the 700 and 800 (in which I am a passenger quite a lot).  The 900 is not really on my radar though.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I like flying the 600 as well.  The 900 I also like as it's a dog.  Such a different animal than the 600.  800 is the one I don't fly often

I only haver the 600, I can fly it to much smaller regional airports which is great. I did think about buying the 800 but I honestly do not know if it is worth the $97 CDN

Maybe I will wait to see if the price drops for Black Friday

The -600 is fun....plus its the only PMDG 737 without winglets.   I like to look out the passenger every so often and not see a winglet...reminds of the old days when they never existed.

You must be a young fella Steve 😁.  For me the old days were the NAC 200 classics. Not only no winglets but sporting 'real' jets; low bypass JT8D's. Watching the exhaust trail and hearing the rumbling crackle at takeoff gave a sense of human endeavor. Inside the aircraft passengers today would wonder why back then we weren't issued with earplugs especially seated behind the wing. Even a Butt Kicker couldn't simulate the all of body low frequency soundwave experience!!  Ahhh, the good old days 🙂. But yeah, I agree, the sameness of everything today can get tedious when we consider some of the more colorful aspects of our aviation past. The 600 allows us to escape to a bit of retro.👍.

Thanks for your continued, incredible contribution to the community Steve!

Cheers

No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.

I recently decided to buy my first “study level” aircraft. I despise spending 10 minutes flipping switches before flying but more complexity is the ONLY way to have a good looking and operating aircraft these days. After much deliberation I settled on the PMDG 737. I really wanted a more regional size, but wasn’t sold on the Aerosoft CRJ, so the 737-600 seemed perfect. Looking forward to it!

I've been on many -200s, loved the stovepipe engines...my last -200 flight was a Delta Express...can't recall the city pairs but want to say NY to Atlanta.  Anyway, been on 727s ,707s and old DC-8s too.  My most memorable was a Pan Am 707 from Philly to Rota, Spain (military charter).

Anyway, I'll be contributing again to the community when the 777 releases...have a few liveries queued up.;)
