You missed something.

1,000 early purchasers have just received a very early access product of the MD-11. They now have a minimum of 60 days of exclusivity with it.

You have just bought the right to be able to download the product in a more (but not entirely) completed state. It will become available to you in ~60 days from now.

At a later date, sometime well after you gain access, TFDi will decide the product is sufficiently mature to sell much more widely to the general public at the usual various stores.

I was under the impression you couldn't buy it yet. It was only for early purchasers, or whatever they called it. Could you send the link to where you "bought" it, please?

Actually I dont own it, but been following development from the start, developer twitch streams, and all news regarding it.  I do not have a high tolerance for complete garbage or even half baked aircraft.  The other MD-11 out there is a piece of trash.   TFDI are certainly going to work out whats not working right and its clear to me they are highly committed.   Its these kind of super critique attitudes for developers that put a real concerted effort, that end up being a drag, depressing, certainly not encouraging for them.   Its one thing to be critical, its another to provide constructive criticism that motivates them to get it working right.so if you have a group of early access users, then for sure you find a whole lot more bugs a whole lot more than a small dedicated beta team of 10 or 20.   Anyone who figures that all these things can be fixed in a matter of weeks may need an adjustment in their thinking.   We are here as a community to hopefully upbuild for great promising projects.  Without it, we wouldnt have much properly done high fidelity aircraft.

You want Beta Testers? PAY THEM! Not the other way round.

I agree with this. Nowadays it is frequent to have unfinished releases of software everywhere and that's just bad for the consumer. The MD-11 is my favourite airliner of all time and i won't get it until it is in a "finished state". Some games even get released and live its life unfinished and with bugs that hurt gameplay, this cannot be. If a product cannot be finished, give it more time or plan things better, rushing the product hurts everyone.

Simple answer for TFDi to avoid as much criticism – release it in a more complete state.

If they'd waited 2–3 months while they continued to improve their MD-11, they would have given a much better first impression. They would also receive more useful feedback on eliminating bugs, whereas now, far more basic  elements require work.

I mean this is slightly off-topic but since when does a customer have to "motivate" the company he bought a product from? Is the whole world by now only about perceived hurt feelings?

I love aircraft like this.

Dragging 5-7t on the tail, less rudder authority, limited automation. Certainly not dangerous, but definitely unforgiving.

It will certainly test those who rely on the aircraft stopping itself from killing you!

so u mean to tell me I bought the MD=11 yesterday 11/13, spent $80.00, and I can't get it until 60 days??????  What is the benefit I get if I have to wait  for 60 days? That is real BS if I have to wait!!!

Its splashed all over the their website , you even had to tick a box acknowledging that you understand its a Pre_Purchase ....:)
