November 15, 20232 yr Just flight and Thranda Design is bringing the beechcraft Duchess to XP12. Here's proof that Just flight is still the game for the XP12 market. Details in the link below. https://www.thresholdx.net/news/duchx12
November 16, 20232 yr I was throughly confused since there already is a Duchess for XP11. Looking at the "In Development" page, however, it seems as if JustFlight tries Thranda's experimental update method where an XP11 product receives a some visual polish and XP12 compatibility so it can be sold at full price again (with a discount for existing owners). Let's see if it works out for both parties. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
November 17, 20232 yr Had it for P3D but as it was not available as a XP12 model never gave it much more attention. I have had too many failures of XP11 modified for XP12 models not properly fixed or reworked for XP12 to even consider it again. It was a good little twin with its counter rotating props for real (enjoyed flying it for real) but the P3D model had poor handling in my view another reason I have not explored it again! Then again if Just Flight can get Thranda to fix up some of their other stuff for XP12 - maybe we shall see! Edited November 17, 20232 yr by coastaldriver
November 17, 20232 yr A bit confused. A normal state according to my wife. I have both the Turbo Arrow and the Dutchess updated for XP12. Yet JF advises they are working on updates for all of the Pipers. So, who is responsible for the "updates' we now have?

If you mean fixing up the XP11 stuff for XP12: The Duchess is a test balloon for a paid upgrade. The Pipers got under-the-table compatibility updates, not really warranting a purchase for exclusive use in XP12. If you mean getting some of their P3D/MSFS stuff into XP12: Unlikely. JF has complained about unsatisfactory XP12 sales figures before, so unless people buy like a million copies of any of their existing XP12 stuff, they see no incentive to tackle any bigger conversion projects. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

What owners of the XP11 versions get for free is a compatibility update, i.e. a current SASL release to make the aircraft work in the first place, rain on windows, XP12 lights, basic things. The upgraded XP12 release is a separate product with better visuals and other polish, for which owners of the XP11 release may get a discount. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
November 18, 20232 yr The web page on there original XP12 updates is for some reason no longer available on the Just Flight website but the original text was "In partnership with our friends at Thranda Design, three more Just Flight X-Plane 11 aircraft have now been updated for full compatibility with X-Plane 12: the PA-28-181 Archer TX/LX, PA-28-181 Archer III and Duchess Model 76." I hope the use of "full compatibility" there suggests they intend to properly support these older XP12 updates going forward as well as the new versions. (I can't see any way the new version will be a free upgrade looking at the amount of work that has gone into it) Edited November 18, 20232 yr by Matchstick
