Except your flowers has nothing to do with a roof. An A320 has actual relevance to MSFS.

I believe it’s what is called an analogy.

I really don't know how anybody can take my comments as hateful. I love both Asobo and the companies working with them for what they delivered in the last 3 years.

My comparison was in response to your comment, just to say in the same way that "I know that the guy who delivers the flowers is unable to repair the roof, but I question whether the landlord is giving the right priorities to his tenant's issues".

I'm sorry but this comparison doesn't make any sense. Ini was hired to do a contract job, develop and deliver an A320. They are a 3rd party developer. Why would they work on fixing sim bugs? They don't work for Asobo much less have access to Asobo's codebase.

So to use your weird example. Once again, it's like a flowerman delivering flowers to your house and being upset that he didn't fix the boiler. That's how you're trying to equate this problem. It's an entirely seperate issue dealt by an entirely seperate person.

Bred from what?

From being ab-initio zero-to-hero Euro airline pilots who never learned how to fly to begin with. The only person who figured it out was the Captain, who wasn’t 12 years old. And by then it was too late. It had absolutely nothing to do with complacency.

How did a thread about a free inibuilds A320 get to people posting nonsense about a crash?

Can we go back to talking about the new aircraft in the sim?

Edited by g-liner

I've flown 2 full legs in the new Inibuilds A320 now, so here's my summary feedback:-

  • It's pretty unprecedented as a "default" aircraft and is rich in features and functions.
  • Modelling and texturing is in point for the most part. Given that A320 cockpits are so sterile, it doesn't look drastically different to the FBW, which is probably a merit.  Were it 'wonky' in any way, I'm sure it would have stood out!
  • As with all inibuilds aircraft, in my experience, it's very heavy (compared to it's peers) on performance.  I have very notably less FPS than in the FBW and lots of stutters.  It lags particularly when you 'look' at the EFB (PS. I use TrackIR). It really gets dragged down. Look away from the EFB and things become smooth.   This still occurs with the EFB turned off.  Some sort of very heavy load going on with the EFB. This happens for me with their A310 as well but it's more pronounced in the A320.  In a scenario where I get 38 FPS in the FBW, I get 23 FPS in this A320 (exact like for like settings and weather, traffic, etc).  If you use a 10- series GTX card (I use a 1080Ti), or a newer RTX card where the last two digits are lower than -70, I think you might struggle with this, performance-wise.
  • When trying to import the FP from Simbrief I got a message saying "the Simbrief aircraft is incorrect type".  I had the default A320 selected with Simbrief and I've never known an a/c 'check' aircraft type within Simbrief before.  It refused to import the data because of this and prevented me from using Simbrief integration, which was disappointing.
  • On take off roll, the aircraft was veering hard to the right (zero wind) and I only just managed to keep it straight with full rudder pedal defection to the left.  (May have just been my end, but can't be hardware as I flew the FBW and some GA aircraft after it with no issues).
  • There's a nasty 'jolt' when you engage the AP - something that doesn't occur on the FBW or Fenix, and something that could be fixed simply by adding the pitch_pid_reset_mode=2 and roll_pid_reset_mode=2  lines to the [autopilot] section of the systems.cfg.

All in all I have to say that for me, there's nothing here that would lead me to use this A320 over the FBW.  That's mostly down to heavy performance and the fussy Simbrief integration coding, that won't allow import if the aircraft selected in Simbrief was 'wrong' as far as inibuilds are concerned.  There are a lot less featues overall in the EFB compared to the FBW.  Sounds are really not bad but there's a metallic whir when at TOGA/FLEX and CLB which gets a bit much.  I prefer the FBW sound, where engine sounds are gradually blended with (more) wind and friction noise, into the climb.

A decent A320 and if inibuilds can determine what it is in their production that leads to heavier CPU/GPU demands, it could be so much better, with a few tweaks.  PS. The max texture size is 4k, so the heavy performance wasn't due to 8k textures.

Not the Neo?

I had zero issue with simbrief importing.

The default A320 is a NEO.

Hence why I couldn't understand this error message.  I will try again and try some other aicraft profiles.

Tosh. Agree to disagree and Anyways back to the sim as the above poster said 👍

Who's throwing insults? And the topic is in the thread title, it was decided when the thread was made.

Threads that go widely off topic usually get locked anyways.

My favourite aircraft to fly as a passenger is the A380 or A350 or Dreamliner. So two airbus in there. As a pilot, it's boring.

Thinking about a 737NG, does manually needing to set electrical busses from APU to engines, manually dialling in landing elevations and having to turn off the centre fuel pumps when exhausted, make an aircraft 'interesting' for pilots ? 😆

Which other operational aspects of conventional aircraft like the 737 make them 'interesting' for pilots, as opposed to 'boring' in an A320?

Many accidents (across all aircraft types) occur due to pilots usually doing the same procedures 99% of the time, then being hit with an emergency situation that they've little or no experience of, outside the simulator.

I think what you really mean is that you find Airbus aircraft boring to fly in the sim.  Quite a projection to allude that "Airbus aircraft are boring for pilots" per se.

You're normally so rational!

For me at least, the proper glare shield and if they are there the FINAL_APP and missed approaches will give it the edge over the FBW.

Once FBW rolls out their versions of these, I imagine the pendulum will swing back.
