PSXT v4.2.0

Recommended Posts

Hi Nico,

I have been testing PSXT with the direct data feed from RT a little this morning at EGPH, EGCC and EGKK. It could just be luck with the data quality, or a placebo effect, but I am seeing a big improvement in the spotting experience.

The aircraft move much more smoothly, I have yet to the the jerkiness and stop, start, jumping forward taxiing I have seen before. The aircraft seem to park more smoothly too. Also, so far, all aircraft have spawned at the gates, I have not seen any spawning during the pushback. All in all a better and much more immersive experience so far, I hope this continues.

Thank you.

Peter

Good to hear Peter, although I would expect a performance increase only, the data quality should be the same as with PSXTraffic ....

Yes the direct data feed is the future. The RT app took much more cpu time than PSXTraffic.

Hi Nico,

Do you anticipate adding in the ability to learn the destination into the new PSXT? That's the piece that will continue to force me to use PSXTraffic.

Also, as requested in a different thread, would it be possible to read the time offset from the sim instead of entering it manually?

Finally, since you're speaking about the future, Balthasar has mentioned to me a couple of times that you might be working on weather related capabilities. Is that so, such that we can achieve some type of historical weather, or have you already decided that it is impossible in MSFS?

Have to investigate first if that is technically speaking possible. If it is possible I will add it of course, then we can get rid of PSXTraffic.

See the other thread: to-do list.

Yes I have examined that but the SimConnect functions I need for that are not (yet?) supported by Asobo MSFS.

Thanks, Nico. Hopefully you can simplify your life! I don't think Asobo intends to make those SimConnect functions available, unfortunately.

I have spoken with Balthasar. Destination Traffic via the RT API (the programming interface at the RT servers)  is possible. A nice programming challenge for me 😉

Now available in PSXT 4.4.0 (and no longer in PSXTraffic)
