Freezings after FG mod & adaptive LODs???

Featured Replies

I've checked the subject and people have reported increased freezings after update 14. I, however never experienced such.

However after applying all the recent mods(frame generation for all RTX cards, adaptive LOD and newest dlss.dll), my sim freezes IF IT'S LEFT INTACT for prolonged times on autopilot! It can happen even on the first screen where you choose flight if you leave it stay like that!!!!!! If i, however pilot the plane or look around using the TrackIR or at least move the mouse, it's all hunky dory and tickety boo!? Beats me! Anybody else, or does anybody sees any logic in it?

Thanks in advance!

Wasn't that the name of the pekinese dog in "All Creatures Great and Small?"

I had to watch all episodes at least twice. Once to just watch, and then again to decipher what they were saying. Think this is the reason I bought a TiVo. I was daft more often than not.

I think you are thinking of "Tricky Woo". :) I have the books and the DVD sets.

We need to change the name of this Thread to the tickety boo thread.

Seriously, I think it's the FG Mod introducing the instability. I've had the freeze a few times since initially trying the Mod. It does seem to be associated with leaving the sim alone for a long period. You come back and it frozen. Have to shut down with task manager. However, the first time it happened was flying across the Rockies in the Got Friends Discus. The sim suddenly froze. I left it for sometime to see if it would come back but it didn't. My initial instinct was that it was the FG mod that did it.

The Frame generation mod has doubled my FPS on a 3080 to 120 fps..

Not sure why you would also need the Adaptive LOD mod as well ?

Because yes, for example my 4090 gets 120+ fps at cruise, but down to a crippling 50s on take off roll or short final into addon airports like KJFK with heavy traffic going. So every FPS counts in those situations.

And I say crippling because 50FPS from FG is really like 25FPS and its not smooth anymore.
