I run the newest version of PSXT. My RT license expired today so I renewed it another month and re-activated it. But PSXT insists the license is expired.

I had to switch to PSXTraffic for RT to be recognized with a valid license.

Did you input the new license number in the parameters file for PSXT?

It might be pulling the (old) license number from PSXTraffic.

That's exactly what it did. The Parameters XML did not get updated.

Yes, you must manually update the parameters.xml file with a text editor ...

Why? That's not something you can expect from the average user.

I know my way around file structures, I know how to get into the appdata folder and I know how to edit xml files, but you can't expect something like that from the average flightsimmer.

You should absolutely turn that into an automated process.

And still you (not being an average user) did not read the 1 page Quick Start Guide where it is explicitly stated ... 😉

If you renew RT and you are using the RealTraffic app you also have to put a license file in a appdata/roaming folder (that is not very well known to average users), is not it? EDIT: even worse, you have to copy the license into the .lic file....

But more seriously:

For users that use as well the RealTraffic app with PSXtraffic and PSXT without PSXtraffic, I can pick the license from the RealTrafic apps roaming folder, just like it already tries after a fresh install.

Which is kind of natural, considering I had been using the predecessors for a year and given that the interface looks more or less completely the same, I simply assumed the guide was geared to new users and would not contain any new information. 😉

Just wanted to give you a props for listening to feedback. I just saw the new update and that you made it a little easier to enter the license data. 👍
